Just love how you are with Ziya, explaining things to her as you shop and making sure you stay on the budget. Doing great as a first time mum, you deserve a pat on the back. Your mum also is a good grandma. Love the family.

I love how Raven shows ups that it’s ok to have clothes from Walmart and that it does have to be expensive. I feel like many other KZreadrs would never do that. I also love the way she helps Ziya be independent.

Literally have been watching since before you were pregnant and it blows my mind that you have a FIRST GRADER! I’ve loved watching you grow into the fantastic mom that you are and the big girl Ziya has grown up to be. I can’t wait to see this new adventure in your lives and continue to see you both grow!

Back to school shopping used to be my favorite. We’d get new clothes, cute folders and stuff. I love that it’s a family event for you guys, your mom is amazing!

Love how you shop. She’s going to be doing arts & crafts, etc… and doesn’t need expensive clothes. LOVE

I CANNOT believe how big she is now!! Tax free week is next week in Florida ( for all my fellow moms out there!)

I love school supplies. We have a “school supply store” at home. It’s just a big container full of a ton of surplus which I stock up on when items are on sale during back to school so throughout the year if the kids need literally anything it’s all in there and they can just grab it. I mostly stock up on the crayons because you can’t beat 50¢ and you never see that price again throughout the year.

When I watch you, I get inspired to do what I want. It’s a bittersweet moment for me because I watch how it’s your mom, you and Ziya. I miss those times when my mom, daughter and I was together. My daughter loves watching you three. You are doing an amazing job with raising Ziya.

Just a quick note, double check with the school. Not all schools do this but she might need a clear or mesh back pack. I live in Lawton Oklahoma, pretty far from you, but that’s what my sons school requires. First grade is so exciting!! I remember those days like they were yesterday🥹 I was definitely more nervous than he was!

in Dallas clear back packs are required in Middle and High schools. Elementary schools are exempt. You are right, she will need to check.

I just did this Saturday with my daughter Auburn. She was so proud to shop together.

Would love to see Raven attempt to do a capsule wardrobe for Ziya 😅 Some more neutral leggings and pants to help tone down the print-on-print looks, would surely be an entertaining video too 😆

Yayyy Ziya’s going to first grade. I love how your vlogs parallel my life. I’m a single mom living in HTX, with a 6 yr old girl (only child) and she is going to 1st grade also this August. We both love watching your vlogs together. This will be my daughter’s second year at her current school. It was definitely a learning curve last year. From the pick up/drop offs to the fundraisers, school activities, school dances, graduation etc. I feel more prepared this year having done it last year. My mom advice is to label everything, Get in the pick up line early if your child is a car rider, get on the PTO list as it will let you know of all the school activities first and check if your daughter’s teacher has the Bloom’s app. It allows you to communicate directly to the teacher via the app and she can contact you with ease like text messaging. Trust me it helps! xoxo

When it comes to PE, I’ve never heard of an elementary school requiring kids to change clothes. They usually want the kids to have tennis shoes and wear them to school on the days they have PE. Changing clothes for PE starts in middle school from my experience. She got some cute stuff!

Side note thank you Raven for this now i know exactly where to get my daughters lunch box.

This was so fun to watch! I’m sure you and the school thought of this already but practicing the school routine before the first day is super helpful. The drive there, drop off, pick up, the classroom. Even practicing the new schedule- bedtime and the wake up time a few weeks before. Good luck! Exciting times ❤

I’ve said this once and I’ll keep saying it lol, but I just love/admire how you are raising your daughter! Thank you for not coddling her because we all know that’s what leads to dependency and I see that so much in my family and all it has caused is trouble. I can see you’re teaching her how to be independent and not helpless. I admire your parenting style so much because you’re teaching her the correct way to be independent. Myself, was 70% thrown to the wolves to figure it out and 30% told what to do and even then it wasn’t shown correctly. I don’t have kids yet but I’m really praying that as I continue to watch you that your parenting style and wisdom in general sticks with me❤️

I would highly recommend Ziya having extracurricular outside of swim class. It allows her to make more friends outside the class. Also, make an effort to volunteer for school trips, if you can. It helps with creating memories.

Pro Tip: Buy a plastic container and buy multiple of school supplies to store them. Also buy your school supplies for next year at the after school sale. You will always have supplies. Kids go through supplies like water.
