I’ve actually been out of college for a few years. At the end of my junior year, I got really sick and had to take some time off to recover. The few short months I thought it would be quickly turned into TWO YEARS. Going back to school has been this terrifying beast just looming over my head that just seemed way too unattainable for me. Not going to lie, it honestly threw me into a pretty dark place. But now, after lots of hard work and the love and kindness of my close circle, I’m in a good place again! I’m ready to go back to school and kick some booty! Of course through this journey, my priorities have changed. Before when I looked at my future, all I could see was a life of theatre, but experiencing these hardships has opened my eyes to a whole other world that I never knew existed. I’ve seen and experienced true pain, and I have this fire inside me to help others going through similar situations. I’m going back to school for biochemistry, to eventually go on to medical school and become a doctor. So my biggest goal for the upcoming year is to make sure that everything I do is in service of becoming the best physician I can! Whether that’s staying up later or waking up earlier to study so that I have the grades to accomplish it so be it. If that means that I have to sacrifice going out with friends to do extra practice questions so that I fully understand my coursework, so be it. My goal is just to fully devote myself to my schooling, so that I can serve those around me that are hurting and in need. Oh, and here’s my insta @ritchiefit

One way to make presenting in class not so nerve wracking, is to look towards the back of the room and imagine a friend or a family member standing there. Make eye contact with the class but speak to the special person in the back of the room. Just take a deep breath before starting, you'll be fine.
