My resource officer in high school was in a similar vein to this guy. Super funny guy, always laughing, and was more open to talking to us than the guidance counselor or any of the teachers were. Helped so many kids, me included. I would not be on the path I’m on if not for him and I couldn’t be more grateful. He passed away recently but man he was a special person. RIP Officer Gainwell.

If he meets them on their level, they won't have anything to lookup or aspire to. He is a leader who inspires them to achieve and grow from the level their at now. He is a leader, not their peer. And hopefully, a great role model. Nice moves.

THIS. Exactly this is what is the best trait of humans. This man, these kids, loving each other, loving life, celebrating it together. We ALL need to do more of this.

This is my all time favorite feel good video. The smile on the officer's face and that of the kids is so uplifting. God bless the men and women in blue. Thank you for all your hard work and sacrifices you have made and continue to make every day. In light of recent developments (4/27/24) makes me so sad to see that state of the world today. We are lost and so are the young people. Watched this again today to get a spiritual lift. I wish someone would follow up with this officer. Lots of people would love to know what he's doing now. LOVED everything about that! You can tell he truly cared about the students and they felt the same way about him. This gave me father vibes. He’s dancing and playing with the kids, but he stayed strapped, so let any harm come to them and you will see his full force. Much respect to him for bringing honor to the badge.

It always impresses me when a officer can bust a move while wearing all that gear.... I also love seeing all the kids respect and admire school resource officers.. My high school had one of the old sheriffs who enforced fishing and 3 or 4 wheeler's of the county before he transferred to sections and became my school officer.. So he loved to talk to all the kids about there hunting/fishing spots and stuff like that.

This was AMAZING! Reminds me of what America is all about. Damn! This brings a smile & a tear at the same time! Blessings to All🙏🏿🇺🇸

If just one kid here avoids a terrible situation with cops because they're just a little less nervous around them due to this officer, it's all worth it. Many officers 'in the wild' need to work on themselves too, I'm not removing due blame from them, but this officer helped everyone come just a little closer together.

@@ginmar8134 Cops usually wear Level 3A body armor, it is a pretty heavy plate to wear all day...to dance in is even harder if the vest isn't strapped tightly to you. Too tight, and it could get hard to breathe.

It is. Every school resource officer is really chill, munciple police are easy going too as long as you aren't causing trouble. Sheriff's are too busy to care about the day to day. The only assholes I've met are park rangers

I was bored with much of the work, and as a teen - wished they'd let me out to work a half day that final semester, RATHER than taking an entire day of band, advanced musicianship, art, art again, home economics and foods...I felt like rather than an entire day of electives they should just let me out to go work! Nowadays, they are more lenient with students who have passed all their required subjects.

This is a gentleman unlike some others that loves his job and truly would lay down his life for his Childrens protection. He will be sadly missed as they children will to him. I hope all his future decisions are with God involved. A heavy heart that's light on his feet.

The guy just radiated goodness and kindness and joy.

This is the kind of school resourse officer that every school needs. If he cares about the kids, relates to them, and they care and have respect for him, he damn sure will protect them with his life. I hope my 9 yr old grandaughter gets a school resource officer like him..

@@ericcooper627 I live in that community that he serves. We all know him here and he is every bit and more of what you mentioned. The only thing about your comment is, unless YOU live here which by your comment I know you don't, YOUR TAX doesn't pay for his protection and service. You would surely know that and the other municipal systems here if you were a resident here. So you have nothing to worry about. You should learn how you get corporations to pay for certain city fundings in your town because that taxing deal sucks for you where you live. Particularly when it's in their better interests as well. It started off sweet in the beginning but became sour past the pre-mature "damn" part. By they way, that cop is paid to entertain as well as to protect and serve. You would know the kids program that he is part of IF you lived here but you don't.

@@ryukyusun just because you seen someone in the community doesn’t mean you know them, do you live with him, do you work with him, people wanna claim they know someone because they see them around town, what you say doesn’t qualify as knowing him that’s knowing of him and there is a difference. And I never said he was a bad guy I’m saying I’m not gonna assume he is because of dancing and you don’t really know him on a personal lever either and that’s the only reason you should be claiming he a good person is if you know him personally, spent adequate time with him etc…

@@ericcooper627 I do. I even know his wife and children. Did I mention his mother as well? In fact, he had a bbq 2 weeks ago on the left side of his lawn. Is that knowing him enough? Need the color of his car and the name of his insurance as well? Don't assume (btw, where did I write I saw him in the community?) or take it out-of context. I am taking about this particular cop. You seem to have personal issues that need an outlet. This is not it!

A pig is a pig. Simple. He’s not worth anything past this video. He may wet your crotch, but those who aren’t impressed by the punks that need badges to be tough. I’d bet he was a coward in school before that badge. 99.9% of them are. Nobody is impressed over his annual 35k. Get over it.

1k people just angry for no reason... This is a bright light in a dark world. What an incredible officer and man he is to mentor these young children and his community. There's alot more of men/women like him out there spreading this type of positivity than we know.

I agree those thumbs down probably persons hate puppies, small kids and sunrise and unity. Division is all they want all while claiming they're tolerance. . They can just return to their narrow dark place. We're good with that. I was proud of both those kids and the officer what roll models. Wow

I am a black male, and seeing how those kids really love him, will make a man sacrifice his life for all of them ! 99% of black males, when we get that reinforcement of support, you can bet we are not what society make us out to be. OMG. This was so beautiful too see. I was once a school law enforcement officer myself through the NYCPD. These children become so special and dear to us and the ❤️. I do miss the job till this day. God bless 🙏 him and I hope that he will consider visiting them when he has time. Till this day I'm in touch with many of My students because my children gain their friendship with many who became like children of my own. What a beautiful performance.
