The vocalist really captured the essence of Peter Gabriel here. Most impressive.

A lot of the School of Rock guys have rather immature voices. It's normal at that age for the girls to sound older, they mature faster. But this guy was right on the fucking money! And this is not a easy song to perform!
Just keeps getting better and better!
I lost a very dear friend a couple of weeks ago to an out of the blue heart attack. He was only 50 years old. He loved Peter Gabriel and this song in particular. Here's to you, Jeremy. Grab your things I've come to take you home.

Agreed. Peter Gabriel is so talented but, this vocalist is better than the original. And the band also nailed . Congrats for everyone.😮
That violin player is downright cute plus she is spot on with the song.
Watching these young people embracing this music is so amazing. It gives me hope.
They killed it. Every instrument was pretty flawless and the singer was awesome
That kid sings like he means it. Like he was really there and wants to tell you the story.
I liked the smiles that began to creep out after they realized that they sounded perfect. Well done.
I've watched this 3-4 times now ... The moments when these young, brilliant musicians realize just how well they're playing not only brings the smiles of knowing to them, but almost ... often, brings tears to my aging eyes 😊 This is epic! More!!!!! 😁👍

@zalewskimm So what? When you cover a song, you cover it. All the instrumental is the same, why not try for the same vocal?

IF he sounded identical, someone would complain it's not original. If he doesn't sound identical, someone will complain that it doesn't sound as good. This is the internet, where people who have never accomplished anything come to whine about those who have.
There's Peter Gabriel in that voice. I loved this.
I was their age when this song was released - they definitely did it justice.

Holy cow that singer is dope! The howling was just the cherry on top, and Erin's laugh was priceless. A beautiful rendition of a song that should be played more often.
My God, what a gorgeous version of this classic!

Yes, but the lead singer could be a little bit "higher" in the tone...lol But it´s only perfect also with violin. This does´nt Peter Gabriel. Good idea of School of Rock Students

The rock drummer playing the triangle and yelping was the best part for sure
This is flawless! Peter Gabriel was the former lead singer of Genesis and when he came out with this song, I was floored. This cover by a very talented group of teenagers takes by breath away. From the vocals to every band member, they are all superb.

You kids give me hope for our collective musical future.
Sometimes all the world needs is a few sincere, passionate children to show us all the face of God. Mad props to "Triangle Guy/Whooper Guy", too.
The violin in this arrangement made it really special to me.

Her smile at 2:37 was a beautiful moment. Whether it was to a friend off-stage or for the enjoyment of playing the song, doesn't matter, it was just great to see her show an emotion during the performance.
The school of rock never disappoints!! They teach their students well!! They all have bright futures in the music world!
You know how to make a old guy rock thanks peace✌
One of the most complex songs to ever learn, they truly pulled it off perfectly!!!
All of these young people are professionals and Peter would be proud.
I literally got shivers hearing this. Standing ovation here.
Yet another superb production from The School of Rock. And lead singer, hell man, make an album, superb singing.
They're having so much fun at the end. They get it!
The violin player killed it. Good for her!
I love the fact these young adults have chosen songs that perhaps weren't major hits in all cities but certainly branded tough cult classics that require a great deal of understanding, knowledge and preparation. As soon as I saw Peter Gabriel I had to listen. Who is gonna try to cover such a song?! School of Rock, that's who. Wonderful rendition and that young man has a great voice!
What makes this performance so compelling is how every single member of the ensemble was completely locked into that groove the whole time
This song is tricky -- you have to build the intensity through the song by not rushing, while also not dragging the tempo. The lead singer and the drummer are absolutely key in building and keeping the intensity. They nailed it. You can even see in the breaks after the chorus that the whole band knows they are hitting it, and the confidence just flows from there. Great job.
The smiles on their faces towards the end make me so happy! They are getting into it and jamming!!!
You would make Peter Gabriel PROUD!!!! Well done ALL!!!
Passing Peter Gabriel to another generation. Excellent!
I love this performance so much, somehow it fills me with joy. These young people created a timeless piece of art to hang in the halls of music.
Absolute elite version. Quality
Just....WOW! Singer did an amazing job.

That was stupid good. Man that kid can sing and those musicians killed it!
I have watched this 20 times. They're all just fantastic. Listen to it in the dark with earphones, you'll go to another place. Great job for the students and instructors. A real pleasure.
What a truly brilliant performance & production...from top to bottom.
Very talented each and every one. These young people are learning a great skill and so much better than the gangs that are swallowing up young people today.
Seeing these wonderful young people performing this song in particular is such an honor to witness. It makes me think that everything will be OK and there is hope for the future. There is hope for the future of real music because of the kids at School Of Rock.
Hopefully, these young people have spent and will spend the lifetime it takes to appreciate Gabriel and his many different sides...Gabriel is an angel, sent to earth to show humans their potential.
the moment they realize that they are just killing it

@Trash Man Isn't it a version of the song they're doing? Surely it doesn't have to be the same as the original, does it?
I want to be a kid again, and go to a different school, one with money for instruments. With teachers who know there’s something worth playing other than Greensleaves.

TonePilot truer words have never been written. I adore music and later in life learned to play guitar on my own but I missed the informative years of my life playing an instrument I eventually started to hate because of all you wrote. But my love for music never faltered. This performance made me realize what passion and love for an instrument can do. Beautiful performance.

I think maybe it's a viola. Looks too large for a violin, and sounds like it's playing in a lower register than I'd expect of a violin.
@steveblaine4691
4 жыл бұрын
@@onionsoup6813 I agree, I am pretty sure it is a viola. The dead give-away is how wide the instrument is, and the position of the chin rest. On a violin the chin rest covers more than half the instrument, the viola's chin rest barely hits halfway. Either way though, she does a really nice job playing it.

Same here. Gabriel would be proud that these young musicians played his classic song. Now if they could do "Shock The Monkey".
I could listen to that f-ing riff for days.
Still... by a Landslide... my favorite SOR Cover of All-Time.
At 4:17 the girl on the piano just loses it laughing at the guys doing the backup "vocals" LOL
I love that they were having so much fun with the vocalizations at the end, and that the guy on shaker and the one on triangle were just as committed to their parts as everyone else. Great cover of a great song!
This young man's voice reminds of Peter's voice. Keep up the good work. BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best of luck to these students.
This is one of my favorite songs ever. They nailed it and as usual, it brought a tear to my eye. I want this played at my funeral/wake/party.
OMG!!!!!!!!! MORE! MORE! MORE!. This is my favorite! Please give us another, and another!!! Thank you!!! This is the type of music that will make you $$$$.
very nice voice and all the band good job
Most beautiful rendition of this song, it left me weeping. bless those youngsters. this song has very deep meaning to me for many many years. god bless 😔
You guys should be very proud of yourselves. You did a classic great justice! You're all very talented!
I love these young people for making such beautiful music TOGETHER! They are WAY COOL!
There are no real weak links in this Cover. PG put lots of intricacies in this tune with the chords and vocals as usual... and I can't believe how spot on this Cover is. Damn near perfection and at the very end, they all realize what badasses they really are. I can't stop listening.
Lead Singer and Violin girl... Simply fantastic! Great rendition. Thank You! PG would love it!
that throws me back in time. Well done all
love this song, these kids are so amazing playing all these old songs with so much compassion and perfection, songs that their parents and grandparents listened and enjoyed when they were their age.
Some of them don't yet know how to hide being nervous. But they don't let that beat them. It's lovely to behold.
A remake that possibly is better than the original. Chills!
The talent on this video just shines through and that young man on vocals absolutely nails it . What a fantastic organisation.🤘🤘🤘🤘
10/10 overall Vocalist was exceptional
I was smiling all through this . I love this song.
One of my all time favourite songs and they did a great job covering it.
Holy Sh*t! Peter Gabriel are you listening… this voice is amazing. Nailed it 🤘🏼
ça le fait les petits loups ! Merci .
Singer’s name is Daniel de Castro! Definitely should put the rest of their names in the description to give credit :)
Every Time I listen to this I appreciate it more and more. Love every second of it. To me,it's perfection at its best.
Wow! Killed it, the vocal is stunning!
One of my all time favorite songs and they made it much more enjoyable!
So fun to watch, vocals nailed it, bassist is grooving, brunette keyboard is feeling it, the blonde is shy
Highlight of my day! Thank you School of Rock
Another masterpiece by the gifted and talented students of the School of Rock. Love it!! Also thank you one and all.
Awesome. Spirit of this piece in the dance of the bass
My favorite song of all time.... Keep it up
