In my hometown hanford California . Back in elementary school we always watched this video on health and safety day . Back in elementary . Kids on the school buses would just get up and bring their phones out and put trash on the floor . When crossing railroad tracks, accelerate to sufficient speed so that even if the bus mysteriously stalls Final Destination style, you'll probably clear the track with the train on it. Hitting the arm barrier is also much safer than forcing a bus evacuation. Sitting facing forward is important, not sideways and not with your bookbag on while sitting sideways or forward. Even after hinting at it, we see a bunch of actresses still sitting sideways. I saw a little Taylor Swift style in there!

I actually found an exception to the "No drink" rule. If someone has medication the would need to take it with liquid, otherwise the pill could get stuck in the person's throat. The person could either choke on the pill, have a hard time swallowing, ruin his/her esophagus, or the medication may not work properly. Refusing someone liquid when they have to take their pills seems like a legitimate lawsuit to me.

Where are they: Got hit by the school bus when the train hit it.

There is another rule that she left out. Stay with the driver while emergency personnel respond. I had to evacuate the bus for a possible fire & had an accurate headcount for my supervisor & the responders. The problem was that half the kids had called their Mom to come get them & were gone even before the first Sheriff's Deputy arrived. It's kind of awkward to be asked,"Driver,you said that you had 43 passengers.I count 27.Where are the other 16?"

This scenario with the bus being stalled on the crossing with a train approaching is also a good example of a scenario where you should use two or more doors to evacuate the bus and is also a good example of a scenario where you need to evacuate the bus as quickly as possible as you may only have between 20 to 27 or over 30 seconds to evacuate the bus before the train hits the bus as the gates sometimes come down 25 to 27 seconds before the train arrives and the Federal Railroad Administration requires that there be at least 20 or more seconds of warning time before the train reaches the crossing. By using two or more exit doors you will cut the exit time in half thus meaning that you could be able to evacuate the bus before the train hits it.

I haven’t seen a school bus since I was a little kid with a loud speaker PA system in the bus since first grade. They had one with the AM/FM car stereo along with the PA system microphone and I rode the bus when we went to the nursery daycare after school for those of us who went after school. They even turn the radio on for us so we can listen to the radio while we’re riding

4:21 sadly, this actually happened before in Fox River Grove on 1995. It was a bus-train collision that occured and 7 deaths were followed with 21 injuries. 😢

actually no because the edges have rubber so if a kid got smashed, it wouldn't hurt much

Here in Europe you just have something like an emergency hammer that is made for breaking the windows if the bus flips on side.

I also learned that the front windshield is another way out. If you kick the windshield the whole thing just pops out. Doesn’t shatter like a windshield. Idk if it works on all buses but I’ve seen it on IC buses.
