I just found your videos yesterday, I have been binge watching! With our middle child heading to college in the fall (making two in college then) we are definitely looking for any help we can get. Thank you for all the great advice!

One of my daughter’s prompts is what is she doing for the victims of sex trafficking and migrant workers. Like other families wondering do we skip essays that she doesn’t have real experience with-I hate passing this one up because it is a local scholarship! Trying to wrap her head around the horrific prompts has been unproductive!

Yes you can skip or try to find a different angle to approach the essay. However, most scholarships might be given to students that have real-life experience in answering the prompts. It might be better to attempt scholarships where students feel more confident.

Most of the scholarships we are coming across are asking to write about a trauma or issues with certain things, like bullying. My daughter has not had any problems. How do address these scholarships? Do we just skip those?

If your student hasn't experienced these issues or doesn't personally know of anyone that has gone through these issues, she can skip them, if she doesn't feel that she can write a compelling essay. There are many other scholarships that don't have these requirements.
