Schneider orientation was pretty cool. Couple helpful answers/tips: Backing test consists of a timed 45 degree, you have 15 minutes to do it and you can get out and look and pull up as many times as you want. Drug test: hair follicle, and urinalysis. Quite a few people got sent home for hair follicle. Make sure you’re absolutely clean before you come here and fail, they will have no choice but to report it to fmcsa if you fail. Hazmat test, Logging test, ELD test will all get you sent home if you fail more than 2 times. 3rd fail will get you sent home. Schneider is strict, but it’s exactly what someone fresh out of CDL School needs. It’s the most fast paced trucking company you can get on with. They’re very safety oriented, and truly want you to succeed as a trucker, because that makes them money lol. Everybody wins. Just take it day by day. Do your homework. Don’t hesitate to ask questions. Remember why you applied in the first place. Don’t doubt yourself, and get to the bag.

So my first year was class A and the past 9 years have been class B. I feel like I could drive the truck just fine, but I may struggle for a little while with backing. I spoke to a recruiter 3 days ago. 9 month financial agreement, if I leave before 9 months are up, I'll owe $2,100. That's CHEAP compared to other company-paid training I've been looking into. What I have learned talking to all these companies, come up with plenty of important questions to ask and above all, see through the bull💩. I already know my first year will be nothing like the $60k they boast. As far as paid training, they do you right, $80/day, told me there will be 2 company paid meals a day, breakfast and lunch, all travel costs are on them, lodging on them, they will even pay for my CDL (I'm in TX, so that's $95 they are saving me). I've already gotten my DOT physical and my class A permit. I was told the only thing I would have to pay is my dinner costs during training and by the time I am out with a trainer, I'll have a paycheck to cover my meals then. Sorry so long, but hope it helps.

The orientation pay depends on your zip code. I got paid about $400 a week the 3 weeks of orientation. After I got out solo I got paid $880 my first week with about 2200 miles at .44 com. I now average about $700 a week with about 1800-2100 miles. It ain't much but if you save, it'll definitely add up.

You should be sleeping in the truck with your trainer, after the 5 days you should be assigned a truck and a Driver Manager

For the most part you won’t even know when you’re doing the road test because when they tell you you’re doing it you might be nervous and mess up, but for whatever reason of you do “fail” the road test, as long as it wasn’t because of an unsafe maneuver, like switching lanes without looking, or pulling out in front of someone, running a red light or stop sign, you’ll have more than one time
