Schindler's List Main Theme - Tribute to John Williams - AFI 2016

Музыка

Main theme of Schindler's List as a tribute to John Williams
during honoring his achievements at AFI Life Achievement Award 2016 (as the first composer honoree).
Conductor: Gustavo Dudamel
American Youth Symphony
Soloist: Simone Porter
I have always wanted to see John Williams's own reaction to this theme and here it is!
I do not own any copyright of the video.

What is interesting is when Spielberg asked him to compose the score for this film he said he could not and told Spielberg to find someone better. Spielberg replied with "I would, but they are all dead." Such a great backhanded compliment if I say so.

When Spielberg asked John Williams to write the score for Schindler’s List he showed him an early cut of the movie. Williams stood up and walked out of the screening room. He came back in a few minutes later crying and said “you need someone better than me to write music for this.” And Spielberg said, “I know, but everyone better than you are dead.”

Most rhythmically accurate version on youtube. Saw many good others, soloists are playing their part with great emotions but forget about chemistry with an orchestra. In this version that aspect is almost perfect.
