Schindler hydraulic freight elevator at KOP mall in King of Prussia PA
(12/28/2022) This is my very first freight elevator I've ever filmed! This is near the Five Below and whatnots.
In my opinion, it has seen a little bit of better days. It takes eternities for the doors to close after having to repeatedly press the door close button. I remember @DieselDucy filming this when it had the obnoxious door close voice with the alarm bell.
As a kind disclaimer, I do not encourage sneaking into unauthorized areas.

This is actually an otis, originally had gal jet plus. This is the former A&S department store which opened in 1980, and this got moded when it was converted to mall space in 2001. I got stuck in this elevator the first time I filmed it as it has very low quality magnetic switches that stick all the time and cause the elevator to forget where it is and stop at the nearest landing (usually under level with the floor). According to mall employees, this occurs frequently.

@@dmvelevatorsandmore Schindler probably did this mod as they did the passenger elevator here and the escalators. There are some Schindler/MEI freights elsewhere in the mall.

@@dmvelevatorsandmore A lot of users assumed that because of the fact that the door close button does not work, but every elevator has the option of disabling the door close button in normal service.
This wasn’t anywhere near 1963, actually installed in 1981. Glad to see it doesn’t do the stupid slow door thing anymore.

@@dmvelevatorsandmoreThis portion of the mall was built in 1981. The Plaza, which is the original part of the mall was first built in 1963, then expanded in 1983, then expanded again in 1996.
Finally the annoying freight elevator at kop mall in its current day so can you please go to the fright elevator at that playground slide known as the powerhouse
