Schiedam (2024) is a city in the region of South Holland, the Netherlands. Schiedam is a neighbour municipality of Rotterdam and part of the broader metropolitan area of Rotterdam-Rijnmond. The city has a population of 80,000. Schiedam has the tallest windmills in the world, like windmills De Vrijheid en Noord. These Windmills were used for the distilleries for the production a local brand called "Jenever".
