People keep saying Schammasch's crowd is hella dead during their live performance. I mean, do you really expect a moshpit in this? This is the kind of concert where the best option to enjoy it is sitting in lotus position while the music transfers your consciousness to other realm.

Well, those people might be the same who try to instigate a moshpit at most atmospheric black metal concerts. I'm not against a good crowd feel, but it has to fit the mood and music. Deicide ? Sure, let's throw ourselves into each other. But I can't understand how some people can be at a Schammasch concert, or many other bm bands, and feel like it calls for a mosh pit. Just read the amosphere. I've had a few of those during some indoor concerts, like Eryn Non Dae, and The Great Old Ones concert. Like, two or three kids or metalheads not accustomed to black metal. The crowd quickly made them understand that no one would follow them. They calmed down quite quickly, as they should. 'cause some of the blackheads were reaaaally not happy with their behavior and close to just throw them out.

Schammasch has been my favorite music for over a year. Perfect sleep music, car music. Can,t understand that they do not have more followers. But that make them more mysterious. As a drummer, I have to say that this drummer is amazing. But there are also the vocals and the strings. There is no better. What a atmospheric vibe they create. I'm going to buy the music. Thank you for the tones. They hit me deep. Greetings from Norway

imo they're actually heavily influenced by Zos Kia Cultus, Demigod-era Behemoth. Which ain't a bad thing at all. That was when Nergal was at his most occult-influenced too.
