I love Garching, lived there from 80 to 82 when my folks returned to Germany for a while then moved back to South Africa but I returned in 1997 again and still loved it. Can’t believe the U Bahn comes all the way to town now and the stairs are right in front of the block of flats we used to live in! The little pond is also gone and there’s a huge covered bicycle parking and a small creek but still such a lovely town with awesome memories. My Grandmother, my Uncle Tony and Aunt Annamarie lived there for many years and helped me with accomodation and showed me around etc. The farm building is still there, the bakery. Thanks for bringing this back for us to see.

Vielen Dank fur the video. I visited Garching a few times when business took me to the European Southern Observatory headquarters. This was before the UBahn stopped in Garching.

Came here to learn the proper pronunciation of the town name Garching but stayed to watch the rest of the video! :) Really nice!
