In all wars, many soldiers who were injured and were to recover almost completely went back to front lines. Some who were not deemed to fit to the front lines were put to other positions, like logistics or overall help other wounded etc. Wounding in battle doesn't relieve you of your duty immediately and many doesn't want to be "seated".

Yet this has only pushed them further towards them as it inevitably would. Which tells you 'neutrality' isn't the real issue, it's just a smokescreen. Seeing as Finland and now Sweden were neutral but have now joined NATO. When can we expect an attack against them from Russia?..

Russians had never been good at offensive capabilities. Ukraine and NATO caught them off-guard, under-manned and under-equipped at the beginning of war which led to failures in certain directions and setbacks. But when it comes to defence, it's a whole deferent story. We saw a glimpse of it in Ukraine's counter-offensive last year and it's just the beginning of their preparations. You can throw anything you want - F16s, any number of troops, and even nukes. You're guaranteed to receive equal and measured response. I'm not talking about Putin but Russian society sees west now as someone hell bent on breaking apart their country. And, We all know how much they love their country no matter how poor they might be. There are emotions at play on both sides. This war will end in tragedy for entire world if not stopped by compromise from both side. Taking one of the biggest nuclear power to dead end is never a good idea and I believe most leaders in the West know this as well.

Ivan, Russia started the war in 2014, and started the blitzkrieg in 2022, so it was not "caught off-guard". Nobody invaded Russia, so your BS about "love their country" or "breaking apart their country" is irrelevant. The only question is how many Russians from depressed rural areas are willing to go abroad to kill/rob their neighbors to make a quick buck. Russia broke peace by invading Ukraine in 2014, so peace will be restored when all Russian invaders are back in Russia. Until then there is nothing to negotiate except POW exchanges.

It seems like you are suggesting that Zelensky is in some way safe. That is obviously not true as the initial objective of the invasion was to decapitate the government. He has a huge target on him.

They do but just don't care. Rich men war fought by poor men. That was actually one of the reasons I respected McCain. He actually fought in the front line and even refused to be released from capture without his fellow soldiers. On the other hand all the rest of them that served either had a cushy desk job or safe assignment in support positions. That was a man that deserved to be a president.

That’s just for the trenches, einstein. The Russians shoot about three magazines and that’s it. The 3rd SAB conduct 2 weeks basic training and a further 2 weeks of immersion drills near the frontline.

Not comparable to those that train in the UK, but considering the 3rd SAB are credited with being one of the most successful brigades in the Ukrainian ground forces, it clearly makes a difference.

There was no “coup”. It is a Kremlin’s propaganda. It is not internationally recognized. If Ukrainian president was overthrown then why Putin met with the overthrown president to begin with. Criminals is Ukraine and if ukraine wants to join NATO it is not for Russia to decide.

It's crazy how Americans think they can shut off a war that we aren't even fighting in like a TV show they're bored of. What we're seeing now is our lack of support. Lack of ammunition for air defense. Lack of long range fires to push back their artillery and logistics. Lack of equipment for clearing mines, etc. All cutting off support does is ensures that Putin has no desire to bargain. He invaded to take the whole country and was stopped by Western support; with Western support drying up, why would he sue for peace now?! They're further from peace.
