I once saw someone make a history joke using that exact scene. In my 3rd world asian country, we don't even recognize most of the ghost/killer Scary Movie tried to parody with except The Ring, if we talk about being terrorized/traumatized during our childhood, The Grudge was the show that sorta paranoids us in the dark, our family is the sort of "save electricity" type especially sleeping time, and the switch is fairly theeeeereee to the point that why do we even bother when we can already reach the fridge and use the fridge's light instead. I often if not always bring a makeshift weapon with me, I still have some weapons to but now to defend my house from home invaders 🤣
