Just got these and they're awesome, great sound quality, ANC, Battery, and they look so good...finally found the replacement for my Sony XB900N!!
Thanks for this video. They are on sale for $100 now in the US and this video helped me to pick this over the Soundcore Q45.
Thank you for another great comparison! 👍
Clutch as usual, I was just looking at those sony's. Thanks for giving me a cost competitive option to consider.
3:30 Thank you SO MUCH for giving a numerical estimation comparing the 2 models' ANC capabilities. I know it's all subjective and empirical in the end, but this is so much more helpful than reviews that just keep repeating "worse than Sony's but not far off"
Awesome video as usual man. The way you explain the sound is a perfect way for anyone to really get a feel for how these sound. Awesome headphones as well!

Loved this video, helped me decide in going for the Edifier 950, especially the microphone test. Feels premium with minor tradeoff on App feature experience - totally acceptable for daily use.

would you recommend the edifier over sony wh-ch720n in terms of value for money?
Would love for a vid comparison with soundcore space one headphones.
90% vs 75% okay, that's all I need
What would be your personal pick over these and the Sony WH-XB910N?
I got these Edifier ears few days ago. For me the call quality was one of the priorities, in that 150-200$ range I did not find anything better. I actually had sellers call me via headphones to test, lol, tried some Plantronics, Bose, Jabbra, Sennheiser momentum 4 and these Edifier WH950NB were the best. Now, Sony WH-1000XM5 are better, in terms of call quality and overall, but they are also 2.5 times the price here where I live. I was hesitant but ended up getting Edifier.

How are the ear cushions. Heard they are hot and sweaty during long use. Are they confortable?
@myroslav6873
Жыл бұрын
@@marcomongke3116 Cushions are their strong point. I can sit in them all day, and the leather is very smooth, it's the first thing you notice when you touch them. But you will somewhat sweat, because it is leather and they are closed. Anyway, I am satisfied with how they feel on the head. After some time of using them I found things I don't like, but cushions are not one of them.

does the mic work while in wired mode?
@myroslav6873
11 ай бұрын
@@lowwwyeeet2410 What I like: - build quality (materials, feel, sturdiness). This summer I've used them everyday for many hours, 8 hours a day of work, and also when riding a bike, moving my lawn, carrying them in my bag. After that I just clean them with a wet cloth and they look almost like new. They give the impression that they will last. - battery life. they last me two whole days of work, and then some more - they work well with my main phone, which is newer Android. The phone defaulted to selecting a high quality LDAC codec, there is companion app. - mic quality is very good, people hear me clearly over the calls at work and even when I ride my bike and talk to my gf she says they do not pick up wind or road noises, cars etc. When I listen to my voice records I am satisfied, a lot more so than with my previous wired Koss headset. This was the main selling point for me. - gf told me they look good. What I don't like: - the biggest issue is how they connect and work with computers, which is my use case. The sound under MacOS is not good, as if the bit rate was very low. And under Windows, sometimes the computer sees them just as headphones, and sometimes as headphones + mic. So on Apple MacBook computer that has Windows via Bootcamp they work only as headphones and I found no way to make the computer see the mic. On my new Desktop with Win 11 they are identified as both headphones and mic and I can use them for calls. But the sound quality was bad for some reason, so I had to search and install some alternative bluetooth driver and audio codecs, and finally they work well with good sound and the mic works, but it was a bit of a pain. Funnily, on my old Win 10 laptop they identified and worked flawlessly from start and I had to do nothing. There is no dedicated app for Windows or MacOS. - they sound bad with my old Android phone and old tablet, and there is no way to fix that since only newer phones support that new codec. With Iphone I have not tested and don't know if there's an app. - if you use them with more than 2 devices and switch between them, you have to create a new connection every time. They only remember 2 devices at any given time - noise cancellation is not very good. I don't like active cancellation mode: way too much sound gets in. The other day I was working from my gf's apartment, these headphones failed to block incoming construction noises. And if there's wind they actually pick it up and bring in wind noise. Also, I don't like transparency mode: it gives a feeble but annoying noise when you are in a silent room, and it picks wind way too much when you're outside. So much so that when I'm on my bike and want transparency to hear the traffic and have better awareness, if there's wind I almost cannot hear music or traffic. My friend gave me his old Plantronics Backbeat Pro headphones, and even though they are almost 10 years old, their noise cancellation is years ahead of these Edifier (and modern Sonys too, to be fair). Overall, while I'm not 100% satisfied, I would still get these again since imo they represent good value. Other headphones twice the price would have the same issues and possibly worse.
Do they sound better with wires on?
What's your favourite for noise cancelling? Both for Headphones and earbuds? Thanks!

Hello, thank you for the review, could you possibly consider reviewing the technics EAH A 800 and compair it to sony?
@klerkusmaximus
6 ай бұрын
Let me say something even after year and you will probably have chosen your cans already: ANC: ANC loves Sony, Bose, and Apple. In other words if you look for the best ANC go for them in order. While the ANC on Technics EAH-A800 is decent, it has some flaws: if you take steps in socks/barefoot it gets transmitted into your earcups that resonates in a bouncy-like sound. If you listening too music it is gone, but comes right back with quiet passages. The A800 are a creaky monster with their plastic that gets also transmitted into earcups even without ANC. The thing is, it is fixable. My ANC died on the A800 (after a year and 3 months), I got them repaired, yet the ANC is still faulty but the plastic creakiness is gone. The soundprofile/signature is identical as Sennheiser's when not better. Everything sounded on place, clear, and overall pure joy besides the faults. Out of box it was a great sounding experience, with dynamic EQ it was excellent. Microphone is also good enough. Ambient sound is about right, could be little bit better. App is meh. Technis wins the battery life with advertised 60h without ANC with LDAC, 45h with ANC and LDAC. Yet I still miss them but for a higher price than the whxm4 I would still recommend the whxm4 .
Thank you for the video. I am thinking of buying these headphones and I want to know what is the build quality like? Could you describe it because I am a blind person I cannot see. It would be much appreciated. Thank you for all the hard work and effort you put into these videos.

Hey! I see this question is not yet answered here. In case you still need it: I got the Edifier and I think the build qualily is quite solid. It’s sturdy, the band is firm but not stiff, and it also doesn’t squeak or anything like that. The leather has a nice soft touch. I have used it for 3 months only, but so far no signs of a wear down. I cannot compare it to the Sony, though. Hope that helps! Let me know if I can support somehow.

I have the Edifier stax Spirit s3 and Sony whxm3. I still use both (and Bose nc700). However, I can't see myself buying another Edifier for sometime. It's one of the worst audio purchases I've made. Sounds great and battery is good. The app wants more access than I'd expect and throws out spam in Chinese from time to time. And the app fails to recognise that the headphones are Bluetooth connected about 50% of the time which means that some of the options like the different audio modes aren't available. Hardware design is ok. It's solid (creaks a bit). But the on:off button is in a terrible position and sometimes I have to press for 14 sec to turn them off (usually now I insert a 3.5mm headphone jack and taking that out switches off the headphones automatically - which can be a pain trying to go from wired to wireless mode. The default cups I found uncomfortable, they're a bit small and pinch. The "cool" ear cups fitting a bit better. Leather stitching is showing some wear after a few months. Call quality in any breeze is very poor and there's no anc. Meanwhile the Sony keeps on going and going. NFC pairing, excellent anc. Needs EQing to get the best from them and works very well with LDAC and hires sources and spatial I was surprised at. The Edifiers sound better than my old Sony's. But I'd absolutely get a Sony replacement over an Edifier.

The STAX S3 are a different type of headphones. They're planar magnetic, and also Bluetooth with a good battery, that's rare with this kind of headphone. No Sony headphones is like that. I think it could be a bit better in design and feel, but it would be way more expensive. This one is not like that, the Edifier W820NB and WH950NB are like the Sony xm4 and xm5, more costumer base ANC headphones. I have the first one, it's really good for it's price, but the build is cheap. That's alright for me because I prefer a better sound and I'm not rich or anything. It's a choice really, the Sony's are 2 or 3 times more expensive but provide a more premium experience in pretty much all areas (expect sound maybe)
