SCARY FLIGHT To Philippines Most ISOLATED Town - Palanan, Isabela
THERE ARE MANY ISOLATED ISLANDS IN THE PHILIPPINES.
But this might be Philippines most isolated town, since it lies on the largest island of Luzon, but is totally disconnected from the "mainland" as the locals call it by the towering Sierra Madre range.
It is so isolated, that Emilio Aguinaldo called it his last capital of the First Philippine Republic!
The only way in is a 6 hour boat trip from Aurora, or a 30 minute flight in a small plane from Cauayan!
So I took a plane from one of the smallest Filipino airlines to find out!

I am a Filipino but never had the chance to tour around the Philippines like you do. Thank you for the virtual tours Kumander. I really really really love your vlogs! ❤❤❤
Thanks for coming to Isabela, mate. Come back anytime. You know you will always have a home in Aurora. Will visit you in Davao when I get back to the Philippines. Hope to meet your wife and kiddo soon! We are grateful for your visit and can't thank you enough for featuring our province. Most Isabelinos have never seen the coastal part of Isabela and through your videos, I hope the government can appreciate Isabela more and put more funding towards it. Isabela is rich in culture, history and beautiful untouched nature. Salamat ha! Balik ka ulit. Bring the whole gang next time. 😄😄😄😄 We will make you some Ilocano tupig. ( grilled rice cake with coconut) 👍👍😁😁

Be careful what you wish for. If it's my choice, I'd rather let the place as it is. Virgin, unexplored, natural scenery intact and untouched, gives more value to the rest of the Philippines.

@@michaelamontemayor448 I totally agree with you as per preserving the Philippines and keeping it untouched but also, progress is good.. I'm sure parameters will be set to prevent exploiting its beauty. Maski kalsada man lang sana, matapos na. This will give locals a chance to go to the mainland to seek medical attention without paying arm and a leg. Need pa mag plane para mangibang bayan. Just like any other provinces, I think Isabela deserves a little bit of notice. It is for people to enjoy and it is up to us to respect Mother Nature and preserve it for future generations. If we haven't seen it, we would not appreciate it. And it is up to us to preserve its culture, nature and its wonderful people especially the Dumagats❤️❤️❤️...

@@mbeeler33 agree, concrete roads are acceptable. Be aware that even ordinary inhabitants has the rights to oppose environmental degradation in the pretext of tourism to give jobs to the locals. But who does really profits from it but the wealthy capitalists. The locals remains their slaves. Most of them are naive. They are here to grab not to for charity.

Thank you KD. As an ordinary Filipino, I do not have the strength and resources to be able to see these remote wonders of The Philippines. Now with you, am teary eyed for the content of your videos, so touching! My knowledge of Philippine Geography, Culture, Food and her diverse people is being polished by your informative video content. Cheers to another awesome entertainment. 🤩🤩🤩

Yes adding my thanks. I always enjoy the videos but this one was very moving to me. For some reason I also got teary…I didn’t know quite why?! Then I read your comment & so I don’t feel strange! I do have relatives not originally from Isabella but moved there years ago from Ilocos Sur. In the “mainland” though. I especially loved -out of order- the family b4 the plane ride, the priest, the daughter of Kuya Boy & somehow how he introduced her -“this is my daughter, my youngest.” I think he said. He seemed pleased for you all to meet. Proud of her Im guessing. The trike ride. The church. The blue lagoon. The aerial views. Well everything. But the priest cracked me up with all his questions. It IS cultural. No offense meant I write this with a smile & love, but I often felt my Philippine relatives were very intrusive with strangers! Lol. It was always “how old are you? Are you married? Are you going to college? Don’t live together b4 marriage…”. 🙊🙈

If KD Anselm sees this please excuse my forwardness. I am still newish but I know you keep your art & work separate from your private life as much as you are able. But I also follow your wife, so I do see those precious aspects of your life too, a bit. You could’ve said to Father when he asked your religion, oh Father you will be glad to hear I’m married to one of your flock & also raising a wee Catholic. Though I’m not sure L is baptized, I suspect she is, just from following N. In any case, it is not your job to please others but I know that would’ve made the friendly & welcoming Father very happy…..
Mahalo for the style of video's. It is nice to see someone highlighting areas of the Philippines not mainstream by other bloggers. Also love the historical context that you tie in to the areas you visit.
Just when we thought that there were no more hidden gems to explore you brought us to the idyllic wonder called Palanan. This has been a rare treat.
KD: the legit travel, culture and history vlogger, documentary creator! Bravo!
It's my first time to see a vlog featuring this part of our country. Amping Kumander!🤙
It's incredible that such a blue color at the Blue Lagoon occurs naturally. That is such an amazing sight. Old Capan is spectacular! I hope you'll spend a little more time there when you return from Palanan.

NEVER IN MY LIFE I REACH THOSE PLACES 😊THANKS KUMANDER FOR SHOWING US THIS SIDE OF THE PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭 ❤
Never knew Palanan is isolated as this. Thanks KD for showing the beauty of this place. Truly a hidden Gem!
This vblog, above others I've seen so far, has given me a new APPRECIATION for you, Anselm / KD. Glad I found it. Learned a lot. Was awed by SIGHTS I would've never seen otherwise. (Thought "Blue Lagoon" was only a movie.) Saw genuine Filipino KINDNESS and hospitality THANK YOU, Kumander Daot! Safe travels.
You’re videos are all great. I’m surprised you’re not in the 500+ if not 1M+ subscribers.
Wow, thank you for showing us another part of Philippines. Isabela province is beautiful lots of historical houses, hopefully the government will preserve them for future generations.❤
I watch all Kumander's videos......but I really really like this one.....I could live peacefully in this Palanan Isabela place.....and not many places make me feel peaceful these days.
Good to see your video again Kumander! That’s a heck of plane ride!😮
As my Filipina wife said, wow, thats a vlog-----going to places we will never see and teaching us the history. Thank you Anselm. It is just so wonderful finding all of the friendly people with family connections. Loved the open trike ride, got you a seat and a leaf----all of the comforts. Brilliant
I wonder what route Aguinaldo took when he travel from lubuagan to palanan,,i think by walking through the mountain ranges of cordillera and sierra madre
What captured me in this vlog is the Filipino hospitality. Another great content Kumander

So instructive, Kumander!
Awesome,awesome vlog!Cant wait for the next episode.👌🏼🤙🏼
I flew into Wyoming once on a twin prop plane like that 10 seater. The landing made it the scariest flight of my life. We had to make multiple attempts because the wind kept blowing us off course, but on the third attempt we touched down. It was the only flight where I felt like I was legitimately in danger of crashing.

Oh wait until the next one! The 10 seater was even scarier! The only time I thought the plane was going to blow over!
Wow, you continue to show us beautiful places in the Philippines we never knew existed! Great stuff!

I LOVE this for so many reasons! Thank you for the history lesson, and sharing another beautiful area of the country. Glad you’re safe!
I am so envious Anselm. I guess you have already visited almost if not all the places in the Philippines. As a Filipino, how I wish I have the means to do that too. Through you, I am/was able to see the places in my country which I have not been to and I would like to thank you for that. I pray for your safety always as you do your travels. God bless you always. - Willie Fred Cabalar Badbaden of Toronto

Beautiful lagoon. So blue.
I am from isabela but never been to this place. Hoping to go next year
AMAAAZZZZIIIINNG!!
KD, the vibe of the place is so peaceful, and the locals are friendly. I just love provincial settings where people are respectful and thankful for venturing their town, esp a person like ur'self. I trust they don't see a white guy visiting. Btw the blue lagoon lives up to its name. The water is truly blue. Have a safe flight back to the mainland...
Nice one bai.
Wow! Fr. Sam is truly hospitable and super bait. You're lucky Anselm, he saw you. God bless you Fr.

I've been there a decade ago. Few Isabelans dream to see that place because it's really risky and too remote though it's called the hidden paradise. By the way, I was born in Isabela. Nice vlog, I love it.
Now I had a glimpse of Palanan with your video, hope road will reach that beautiful, historical place
Thank for showing us/me this amazing place 👍🙂👍
Nice I’m just smiling until the end and of the Video..
KD, I’m impressed dude, I thought I was an intense explorer when I was over there in PI, you’re taking it to a whole different level… Kudos! and Regards, From the old, Philippines walker👍
Salamat KD, those remote areas are really lovely. How I wish, I can see it's natural beauty .✅

im so happy that this place is still remote. look for a guide and trek to jamolong. and dont foget to feast on cheap rock lobsters while you are there.
When I saw Kyle in the vlog, I thought he's finally going to make it to Palanan. But it looks like Anselm went there by himself.
