She's appreciates the brilliance of the whole bit but blacks out on the ones about her - fair enough.The witness protection remark is in sync with what Colin has said. One year he said something like "Are you trying to get me killed?"

It's brilliant! They're roasting each other while roasting each other! It's refreshing to see comedians who are bold enough to say what they say for comedy. We're all in on the joke so we know it's a joke. A typical stand up would be ruined for these jokes. But the set up allows for the taboo to be stated.

Weekly Update is pretty much the best part of SNL anymore.

She must be the coolest woman on the planet. She actually has a sense of humor and is drop dead gorgeous... happy life for them, I hope.

I also like how Kelly was starting on a point but (Scarlett) wasn’t done and so she just let (Scarlett) finish.

lol but you know the funny thing is that the jokes I've seen are gentle in an interesting way - they always lift SJ up (she's pretty) while whacking Colin down for the punchline (only cares about her looks or her money to baby trap her etc). It seems they just have a good sense of humor about it

I really hope she's exaggerating the emotional impact of those jokes. I really do like Scarlett but you'd have to have had an extremely pampered life for it to really hurt you. Now, she's been a fairly famous actor since she was a child...so, it's possible. I hope she actually has a great sense of humour and can be self-deprecating.

@@maxborg1627 I understand. But even those are just jokes. That's why it works, and it's so popular. It's no coincidence what you'd consider the edgiest humour on SNL is also the most popular skit. People want to know we can still go there as a society. Sh*t talk about racism and sexism, and understand it's not "real" and we're all still friends and neighbours, in this life together, working on what counts and having each other's back when the real stuff lifts it's ugly head. But if you're too sensitive to the jokes done in good fun and good faith, you never deal with the real stuff, while at the same time starting to regulate and oppress everyone who has less power than you. This isn't overly dramatic. This is happening right now. So, I'd much rather Scarlett, with her power as a role model, have fun with these then clutch her pearls about them. She's not doing anyone any favours by doing that.
