What is the reason for the ship to do a 360 at the start?

Quite a lot of of the ships set off at or around the same time, so they stagger which way they face when they’ve come in. This way some of them can just literally set straight off forward once it’s time to leave, if they’ve already turned around before ‘parking up’ if that’s what you want to call it. Some of them when the set off do the 360, which then of course takes longer, so the aforementioned ones that’s parked in a dock higher up, already facing the correct way, can set straight off as we said, while the ‘wrong way facing’ ship are doing their 360, meaning no clashes, but each ship can still be on the move staggering them also as they are leaving port. Always best to have good gaps between them when moving. I still hope that makes sense and helps.
