Scarface talks writing process, Rick Rubin, Geto Boys album, Mind Playing Tricks on Me

Ойын-сауық

www.hardknock.tv Exclusive in-depth interview with Scarface backstage at Paid Dues. Facemob talks to Nick Huff Barili about his writing process and how the first words are the most important because they set the tone of the verse. Surprisingly, he admits that doesn't like listening to his own rhymes. Scarface talks about how the birth of his son in 1998 was a moment of clarity that helped him get a new perspective on life. As the interview continues Scarface addresses rumors that Rick Rubin originally didn't want him to be part of the Geto Boys. Facemob says that the only way he would record another Geto Boys album is if Rick Rubin produced the whole album, if not there will not be another Geto Boys album. Scarface confirms that Mind Playin Tricks On Me was his song and was supposed to be for his solo album but that it went to the group and that Willie D added his verse later on. The title was inspired from something his Grandmother said and the lyrics dealt with a lot of the paranoia caused by Scarface's heavy drug use. Scarface looks back at that time and is glad that he "got out of that shit because I don't ever want to go back in there. I was in a part of my brain that was spooky...I was in a real fucked up state of mind. To the point that I just wanted to die. "
Our conversation with Scarface is just getting started. Make sure you subscribe to our youtube channel to see part 2 on Wednesday.

This is like a 3part interview. There was another interview clip that was infused with this. He had on a light colored shirt and different cap in the beginning. Great interview. Raw scriptures.

Thank You Face, for slapping me back to reality! (For real) from now on I'm doing me when producing this hip hop music. From now on I'm sticking to the formula of true and traditional hip hop beats.

That's the realest shit I ever heard a Emcee say in a interview. "If you ain't crying by the end of your own song you wrote the wrong song." That's some great words of wisdom right there because a lot of people feel just like each other...they are afraid to tell the truth about their real life. if you ain't Rappin' about your own real life then it ain't real rap.

I'm elated to know that a high caviler artist such as Face would be so passionate about the hip hop culture. Its seldom you listen to an artist interview and agree with the majority of his or her views. Big ups to the interviewer and much love to Face for his continued REIGN AS ONE OF HIP HOP ELITE . My only remark to one of his comments would be, Face you WANT BE forgotten! Waiting on the new album!

Some of the best words ever... I have never actually heard anyone say it but always felt that I should put my heart in it. But its a painful process to hear life some time if you writing the truth for everyone to here. Its very few guys I listen to now... This shit so watered down. What admire the most about lyrisist is there ability to not care about what they say and how its going to effect there life besides possibly making alot of money. I ask myself all the time is it worh the money.

Faces assessments about modern day Shit hop are correct but this is what happens to a people who hate and forsake themselves. All of those great rap groups in the past did not come together and form distribution companies, radio stations or nothing that would keep it in our hands. The rappers, just like the jazz men, rock n rollers, doo woppers and R&B groups just signed contracts lucrative enough to make them comfortable enough for the moment to be super consumers, buying things and that's all. The black pride rapped about on records was not reflected in the lives of the artists because if it was there would have been some collective cooperative economics going on between rap stars for the future. Not just subsidiary record labels but the whole nine from radio stations to distribution. Beefs about styles, west coast east coast, who's bitin who and all of the self esteem issues that black people have on a whole were more important to them. It is just natural law that a people who hate themselves no matter how gifted and talented they are will be exploited.
