I’m so glad they aren’t being predictable with character selection - having Scareglow in such an early wave is genius

Oh wow, the comparison time between the Vintage and Origins Scare Glow really showcases how close they're staying to the vintage look with this Origins line, they look identical at a glance! Younger me would've loved this even more than I do, I was always looking at Star Wars The Vintage Collection figures on the pegs and wondering why they didn't have vintage-style figures to match

This is a gorgeous fig. Love having this on the shelf and I get a little grin every time I switch the lights off and see this thing happily glowing away.

I always thought scare glow looked cool and now we have these motu origins figures they are great

I had a hard time finding this when it came out in my country (there’s even rumours that they weren’t distributed here) but I finally got one today and I am not disappointed!! He looks so cool with the other figures!

By Far My Favorite Figure of All He-Man Origins line

Great video! Thank you! I'm heavily disappointed by the paint-job, though. His skeletal look is integral to the character, and they fouled it up royally across the entire production run. Vintage Scare Glow: Great bone-painting 33 years ago. MOTUC Scare Glow: Amazing bone-painting 11 years ago. MOTWWE Undertaker: Great bone-painting last year. MOTUO Scare Glow: Sloppiest. Bone-painting. Ever.

@@paulroche2265 Yeah, but the Classics version was only $20 when it came out, and they pulled off the effect brilliantly. And the Undertaker figure that used the same gimmick just a few months beforehand came out fine, too. Something definitely went awry with Scare Glow.

Surprisingly Mer-Man didn’t make the first wave cut. Weird since he’s the top 4 in the OG line.

I got mine in the mail from eBay just yesterday. I wish the staff also glowed in the dark, but aside from that, great figure. I haven't seen for myself how long the figure glows, but its for several hours, then they used strontium aluminate, which is superior to the cheaper and more commonly used zinc sulfide, which tends to only glow half an hour or so.

After seeing the Mattel Con exclusive Revelations Scare Glow, I decided to pick up Origins Scare Glow from BBTS.

Just in time for Halloween LOL

This review may or may not have influenced me to pick up Skeletor & He-Man today. . . Okay it did and I can't wait for Scareglow Skeletor. Also perfect timing for Halloween lol

I bought the original Scare Glow for my son back in the '80s. He wanted to make it glow, so he laid it on a bare light bulb in a lamp. We smelled something burning, and found the figure completely melted over the bulb...

Vintage will always be vintage, but these origins figures are really impressive.

If it really bugs you, drop a touch of super glue in there and move it around constantly until after it’s dried. It’ll add a rough texture to the ball joint providing friction. Great review as usual Dan!

Can't wait to own this figure. Scareglow, Skeletor, and Ninjor were my go-to baddies when I was a kid playing He-Man

I just picked up your Masters of the universe toy book today. Well I came in the mail today I actually ordered it yesterday online I'm glad for fast shipping I can't wait to dig into this.

In the UK the mini comics don't have any words in them! Just pictures. So now no one in europe can read and enjoy the comics.

his power source is sticking up against the lightbulb in a lamp AKA the Orb of power in Castle Nuul. Karak Nuul's ancient castle

I loved that figure as a kid. The cloth cape was always fun to play with and I remember the mini comic being really good. Just a fun figure to play with.

Got this one a few weeks ago in Brazil, nice review. Found it funny you didn't mention its painting, which albeit not bad is imho inferior to the original and classic ones. It's a shame in Latin America we're not getting dialogues in the mini comics or the description over the cardback artwork.

Scare Glow was by far my favorite. I think he was the last toy I bought because I was a little older on the last wave of MOTU,and started getting into music.

Me getting the figure here in Brazil before the review from Pixel Dan, is surreal :D But of course, Latin America did not get any TrapJaw and Man-E-Faces yet, even if we are getting both wave 1 and 2 as our wave 1. According to sources, it will reach here in early december, and the next waves in March 2021. Nice review, as always.

Everything is already sold out. I went to RiHappy and some guys got in a fight there to get what they had. They only had two Evil Lyns. I was going to buy Evil Lyn when the girl from the store found a Jet Sled with Prince Adam. It was like it was there waiting for me.

I have not seen this new Scare Glow figure @ any Walmart’s on the pegs yet. Finally found my first ones this week here in Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 with He-Man, Skelator, Trapjaw & Man-E-Faces. Great review Dan

You can actually make a cloth cape from a purple piece of fabric if you'd like i believe,also this figure was one of the most desirable figs in my childhood! It is a really awesome thing that mattel released once more those toys for the collectors those years! I ordered two pieces & i will open up the one i will receive today for a toy review on my channel! Thanks dan an awesome review once more!

Just got my Scareglow today, but luckily every joint and including the neck is nice and tight, hopefully you can get a replacement! Such a great figure!

Nice review, I love this character! Got mine today! I preordered back in August as well. My packaging was even worse

So glad I was able to pick up two of these from a random toy store here in London and at retail price. I bought the second to take out but I cant do it. This toy store was able to get it months early along with wave 1.

Those Master of the Universe Classics are generally super frickin expensive now. I looked up Scareglow on eBay and he's like 400 bucks almost. It seems with the classics line, I never know that I want them until it's too late.

It is absolutely the worst quality of the Classics line. You literally had to be there as they were released, because the price went up ridiculously almost right after they were released. I will say though: Scare Glow is one of THE most expensive.

U can insert a tiny bit of blutak in loose joints to stiffen it a bit.

I ordered this one along with other Origins characters yesterday. 😊

I’m based out of the UK and preordered on Aug 24th and by the looks of it beat Pixel Dan on delivery. Weird as USA usually gets these way before the UK does. Lots of people will be using this figure for spare parts for vintage scareglow (despite minor differences)

I missed out on the original Scare Glow. I'm going to have to pick this one up and add it to my vintage collection.

I know it's probably gonna take a while, but I can't wait to find one of these!

Hope you pour some floor polish into that neck joint and let it harden while moving the neck joint around to make sure it’s evenly spread. Should give you a nice solid neck joint after that.

I had him when I was small I remember him well. Mine is finaly comming in the mail

I like the art done on the ribs of the vintage piece better than how it looks on the Origins one. But the glow feature on the new character is totally awesome!!!

what's fun about this guy is that he looks like a knock-off skeletor in the same toyline as skeletor AND simultaneously looks more skeletor than skeletor, in that he goes much harder in on the skeleton wizard motif. he's even got the same colours of purple and blue.

To fix up the neck I recommend putting a couple drops of super glue and moving the stem around so it doesn’t get stuck

They did a series of wrestlers based on motu and i think undertaker is scareglow in that line x im not a wrestling fan but he looked cool enough to get my attention anyway

try some threading seal tape it about only 2 bucks wrap the remove head then apply to the ball joint it see if that works for you

Great review as always. I'd like to see the Bone colored Scareglow we saw at NYTF released as well.

Aquí ni an llegado las primeras figuras de origins y menos las de los amos de la wwe walmart ni tiene los derechos de ventas de la wwe por eso es imposible consiguieras así que las tuve que comprar en ebay

I think it is great that they are keeping he man and skelator in each wave so far

I never owned a Scare Glow, but I want to try and get this one if I see it. I have a section of stuff that glows in the dark and kinda want it for that too. Perfect for Halloween. The loose neck issue is unfortunately a common thing with most figures in the Origins line. I know a few of mine have the issue.

Seen this figure on ebay with a starting bid of £40 and described as rare but I got mine of amazon on the same day for £15

I think at 10:11 the original black paint application to highlight the glowing bones was done better. Especially for the torso area. The new one doesn't look like ribs at all, unlike the original one which looks like ribs. I hope Mattel rereleases a fixed version down the road with better black paint apps.

I ordered a repop vintage scareglow cape the moment Origins Scareglow was announced with a plastic one. Also my Man-at-arms has a loose neck.

Easily, the best designed MOTU action figure of all time.

The comparison part was great with the three action figures glowing in the dark. Doesn't the Mondo Scare-Glow glow in the dark? It would have been great to see the Mondo version of Scare-Glow with these.

This figure looks great. I have the same issue with my Man-At-Arms. The head is quite loose. I hope this is not a common issue with other figures.

I dont collect this line, but always like to hear your voice buddy. Keep it up.

That’s nice. But he should come with an alternate interchangeable head without the crack, for those who want to make their own custom Hot Topic exclusive-style Skeletor, using the uncracked Scare Glow head on the standard Skeletor body.

put a small drop of superglue inside the neck and roll it around for a minute or longer, that will tighten it without sticking it

My man at arms head was just like that. Try popping the head off and turn the ball joint 180 degrees. It might tighten up and then pop the head back on

It's been a fiaco in my country. The figures sold out in like 2 days. The resellers bought unlimited quantities in those days. There's no date for restock...

Yeah it really sucks I haven’t found him anywhere yet and this is something I have to try to plan in order to get them, also doesn’t help that walmart isn’t good with knowing the dates and whatnot

These ones are way cooler too because of the articulation. I know they’ve not original vintage but they are overall much cooler figures imo

This was the only He-Man figure I didn't own back in the day. I had literally all the rest including the playsets.

You could probably fix the neck with glue and it shouldn't cause problems moving the head as long as you glue it in the right position. Good luck. Love your reviews Dan!

How do the Scare Glow boots look on the Rise of Evil Keldor/Skeletor?

Dan, I don´t know if someone told you but the figures are being sold by Mattel here in Brazil. I got He-Man, Tee-La, Skeletor and the Jet Sled with Prince Adam. But everything is already sold out. People even exchanged punches in the store I bought the figures because they had only a few pieces.

The quality of the paintjobs are pretty much perfect on the vintage figures. Got a few origins figures now, i noticed that the paint is not that great compared to the vintage line.

From the original line, I have the original Scare Glow with the glow in the dark halberd. I’m only missing his cape, and that really makes me sad.

I'm a simple man... I see a Pixel Dan video reviewing a new MOTU figure and I click on it! :-D

Honestly I don't have any Motu figures these days. Years back i had almost the whole original line. Had to sell....I know dumb!!! But life is life and they had to go. If I spotted this in stores I'd have to buy it. Just SEXY!!!

Great review. The loose/bobble head is actually pretty appropriate for a guy who is a skeleton, lol!

Why are the coolest toys always the hardest to find in Canada? I’m not even a big collector but when I know when I want a figure I want it, unfortunately these just like the TMNT stuff flys off shelves, hopefully into the hands of collectors as opposed to scalpers but either way I wish they were more available and easier to find because I literally just picked up the last skeletor they had and wasn’t able to find it at any other wal-marts

Just got mine. Here we have a trilingual card (English, French & Spanish) which skips on a lot of the wording so people discovering him anew don't get to ponder what "Evil Ghost of Skeletor" means.
