Scantronic SC800 partitioning demonstration

Ойын-сауық

Here's a demonstration of some of the features on my super rare Scantronic SC800/1600 alarm panel. It may even be the first video on here that has ever shown the more advanced functions these systems support. This system supports a lot of features for its time, including up to four partitions and keypads, 16 zones, a local parallel printer for logging, several expandable outputs, plenty of reporting formats to choose from and much more. It is also one of the few panels that I have ever used that has the ability to call into the downloader software and upload its event log automatically when it gets near full, which I think is a really neat feature.
Here's a link to the other video I have seen of this panel on KZread before:

Go sub to his channel, he has some neat content as well.

My friends still have this system! They may be moving within the next few years, so I’ll see if I can get the panel, keypads, and siren driver out and keep it all. The exterior speaker would be way too hard to get out, same with the door and window sensors. The interior speaker would be easy, but it would leave a giant hole since it’s flush Mount. The siren driver is a Moose MPI11 that is set on the steady tone. The interior speaker is an Ademco 746F. If I do remove the system, I’ll put in a new one (probably a Honeywell Vista 20p with an Ademco siren driver and 6160 keypads).

Yeah you’re who I was referencing as the one other person who has shown one here. Definitely try and save it, they are very hard to come by now. If you do end up saving it, let me know and I can help you get started with programming and such.

How did you get this system and the software for it? Do you know when production began and ended?

I don't remember where I got the software, I'm not super sure about dates either, but I do know the firmware version of my panel, which was upgraded at some point, was in late 1988. There are much newer versions too.
