Scania Truck Driving Simulator - First Look
Ойындар
Taking a first look at Scania Truck Driving Simulator. You know I love my Scania, so what does this game offer that Euro Truck Simulator 2 doesn't? Well, you can put your driving skills to test with truck maneuvering challenges and take some crazy courses that are designed to test your truck driving skills to the max.

16:15..... as a real truck driver myself, I would say you have more control in the real thing, you have more freedom of movement to check all mirrors, and you can even get your banksman, or yourself to jump out and have a look at any reverses you feel unsure about to check for obstacles. I watch all your videos but I dont have a PC that can run this, but by watching you trucking on the sim, it looks a bit harder to be fully observant of your surroundings than it would for real.

I think the main appeal of this game is to teach ETS and ATS newbies how to actually park trailers XD

Well parking forwards is easy but in reverse it’s hard
Yes, SCS Software. I think I hinted at it at one point when I observed that the Scania model was exactly the same as in ETS2.
This reminds me of my drivers test. 45 degree dock, straight line back, blind side parallel park. Parallel parking took weeks to master. Once you get inside the cones, you can pull up to straighten out. Your "bus turn" is called a button-hook. You did a great job on it. On the "S" back, aim the corner of your trailer for the outside of the outside cone. The trick is shallow steering. Don't over-steer...like I tell my students, "small moves". It takes a full truck length to see the input of your steering. That's why you take things slowly.
If you make a "pig's ear" or a "dog's dinner" of something then it basically means you've made a mess of it.
I'd love to see some dangerous roads like this in ETS2.
Yes when I done my Cat C+E artic licence you do the offset reverse as part of the lessons, however, I don't remember doing it on my test, just loads of other manuvours and a shit load of tight mini-roundabouts.
Those challenges look like so so so much fun! Please do more of these Paul!
it's a nice complement to ETS 2, while ETS is about driving and chilling, this is about challenging yourself to do some wicked truck maneuvers. Definitely worth the time for truck simulator players. I'd so much appreciate if you would do more vids of this game.
> Has trackIR > Uses right UI mirror
I had to do an alley dock test as part of a driving school in the the US Army. No pull forward was allowed - just one chance to do it right. I managed to get in the cones well enough to pass but was slightly crooked. Still, it was easier to back up than a 10 ton truck with a full size trailer as big as the bed. The fifth wheel connection helps a great deal. All of them were more difficult than a simulator.
i loved the last bit, so fun driving on that dirt dangerous rd. wish they had that in trucking games
Thanks for the tips :)
well ya got ya dangerous drive mate nice to see other places good job
The bit where you drive on the cliff looks amazing
They had roads like this one time on ice road truckers it was crazy watching them sometimes there tries would go over the side
Do more of this please, it looks really good
I know I'm like 2 years behind with this answer, but my dad has been a Scania driver and he told me that they don't do these types of tests. Just a little fun fact for you lol

+Angelica Labermo They do similar tests in the Young European Truck Driver of the Year competition. These are very cool challenges though:)
Only true og’s and legends still play this game daily
I bought this awesome game today. It's so fun. Great reverse training
I took the C.R. England Premier Truck Driving School, 2 week course, and one whole week was dedicated to backing, the parallel is the most difficult
top vid ,just gone and ordered the game after watching cheers squirrel.
That Road of Death looks like the road in Bolivia that was in Top Gear and Ice Road Truckers Deadliest Roads.
This game is very good at helping you park trailers for Euro truck haha, helped me xD
I have this game and personally think it is a incredible game because all of the graphics and abi of the other cars on the road . All of the detail on the streets are very well made and good licence tests and competition .
some of the roads when some of the ice rode truckers gang went to south America were nuts
Offset reverse right is what I did in my coach driving test. The place I did it had everyone do it
Get the game! Looks awesome! Top Gear did a challenge and used that road!
IT IS ON STEAM NOW AND ON SALE GUYS :D

admitting your mistakes is the 1st step to enlightenment...lol....great vid
This is cool can't wait for more dude
Nice skils
this is cool! more of this please :)
I love all your videos, mostly just because of your personality. Partly because of the accent/slang. :)
OMG The Dangerous Drives are awesome :)
OH AND it did get to steam!
squirrellllllllll.... you HAVE to plow that scania over the edge, just to see what happens. i was just waiting for it, but your truck driving skills are superior... except when you have a few cones to hit haha
Squirrel this road is on top gear
less lock when reversing, put more on if needed then tack it off. small increments of adjustment dude :) happy trucking from a trucker
10:00 you can look down (at least with the mouse). I don't know about track ir because you would be looking at your desk ;)
yes you do have to do that in cdl school i have my cdl and its not as easy as it looks
I wonder if Paul will do driver competition now that he has been to the Scania chassis factory where the YETD competition was held. Maybe he can break the record time in knock the king! :)
"If I had to drive a real truck like this, I think I'd go home" I lost my shit thinking of squirrel driving a truck and just stepping out of the truck and walking home LOL
That looks like it might be based on the Yungas Road in Bolivia. Actually the Top Gear guys did drive on that once.
well played sir
I bought this in a Steam Sale and felt like it could have really benefited from a "Driving Lessons" mode. Having a tutorial on how to do the moves, when to turn in, how much etc would have made it much less hit-or-miss and much more like... well, learning how to handle a truck. It feels like they missed a trick with this one.
I am downloading the demo for Euro Truck Simulator 2 on steam right now. I am gonna watch all of your videos of it while I wait for it to finish. =D
so reminds me of my hgv test !
I think I'll have to get this if it's still available on Steam. 👍😁
love you paul.
bloody awesome!!!
ETS2 doesn't have much like this BUT... Bring a trailer to the guys with that really narrow entrance to their yard, and try backing the trailer in off the street all the way. A lot of fun, and while not exactly the same, it's quite good for your reversing skill none the less. There are a couple other yards that if done backwards would round you out nicely.
Squirrel, this road is very similar if not a model of the road on Top Gear UK Bolivia Special
and squirrle, close counts only when the outer layer of clear coat scratched ;)
Loveing the videos man! Would you ever consider doing a Scary game? Say Amnesia the Dark Decent. It's fairly cheap on steam and is a little older but it's one of the best games out their and I would love to watch you play it. I think it would be a good laugh to watch!
It's on steam now and on sale
more squirrel!!
i actually did just watch the entire thing :P
great video
When are you going to do the next one? I really enjoyed the dangerous road at the end. :)

It shall be interesting testing this game since I'm not so good at reversing the truck.(I should have been better at it though, my dad was a truck driver for about 38 years. He's still alive, but he doesn't drive trucks anymore.)
woah nice
can you recommend any of your vids that go through this reversing procedure. I keep losing the trailer on tight reversing corners
This should be a mandatory DLC for those with TruckersMP :P
I dont know how it is in other countries but in my country if you hit a cone (even in regular car driving test) you immediately fail and have to pay almost double to enter the test again. I'm OK with the cone situation but paying double? No.
nice parking
It's certainly a good looking game.
Well said Squirrel.
I thought I said that in the video. Yes, there is a Mac version.
In your next video, please go back onto the first Dangerous Driving challenge and drive off so you can see the fall from inside the cab...
cool keep it up
Thanks for that ;)
It'd be harder to reverse up to a Tesco door where they take the good
that road really is that narrow!
thanks
You must have a really really slow internet connection then - it will take you hours to get through all my ETS vids lol
The dangerous drive looked like the death road in South America.
squrrel when you are reversing the key is to follow your trailer
This was actually quite entertaining, Paul. I've always thought truck sims were in the same class as the farming sims; boring and tideous. Never played any of them though.
Well, I never knew that
Awesome video man! Are you using a Steering Wheel or just a keyboard?
Lol I remember downloading this game, thinking it was ETS2(which it kinda was) way back then.
Do more dangerous roads! :P
Oh I so wish they would bring that out. They need to get going on it and just build it up with DLC. They could do so much with such a game. Someone give me a few million dollars so I can get a dev team on it ! lol
how do you change the resolutions?
Did anyone notice that they brought that south american map from extreme trucking 18 wheels of steel ?
Tyin Australia they do
Get the scania r420 mod
Nah I have Fios. 35 up and like 34 down. I didn't realize how small the demo file was. It only took like 5 minutes or less. But I still watched a couple of them. I really suck at back up and parking in this game lol. =D
what joystick did u use in this game?
Squirrel have you seen IRT deadliest roads?
do. more of this
Road of death is in Spaine if i remembered correctly.
where did you buy your headset and trucker eye
DaSquirrlesNuts, i have a question for you, what type of controller or wheel do you use, to play al of these driving simulator games?
YOU ARE AWESOME!
That is the road from top gear
Is this running on a modified Euro Truck engine? Because it looks wayyy too similar to not be based off the same software. Like the parking arrow is the same, the icon on the ground for parking, and even though it's the same kind of truck seen in Euro Truck, that model is EXACTLY the same, like ripped from Euro Truck itself. Plus the whole thing where you can put the other mirror in the top corner of the screen.
