Brakes are the worst for heavy vehicles because they carry ton of weight and it takes a lot of time just like how you stop faster without a bag compared to stopping with a heavy bag. This is the main reason why freight trains are capped to 50 kmph

On a normal road, a car passes a truck. On the Autobahn a truck passes a car.

Speed limit is still 80 or 90kph for trucks with trailers on the Autobahn, if I'm not mistaken. That's mostly because European trucks *SHOULD* be limited to 90kph.

Crazy speeds there. Here in the USA, most semi trucks go up to 65-70 with the governor limit. In rare cases, one of them passed us when we were going 75 mph.

On the Autobahn, trucks are only allowed to go 50mph (or 80kph) so this is highly illegal (and highly dangerous, too, as the braking distance about triples when going 150 instead of 80kph.) If you get caught this fast you'll lose your license for at least 3 months. PS: You also must not overtake on a right lane on the Autobahn and must let other trucks pass when they try overtaking you. All in all you're looking at 3 months without license and about €1000 in fines in this video. If the driver would get caught doing the same thing after getting their license back they'd also be over the threshhold (we have a traffic violation point system) and have their license revoked.

These trucks are really powerful, but for safety and emissions reasons they’re usually capped to 90kmph, delete that limiter and you can face heavy fines

Trucktires are not designed to go that speed.. so at 9 bars of pressure they could explode.. emissions is just a load of bull.. and those are euro 1 or euro 2 scanias.. looking at the style of the dails.. those are oldskool.. so a fuse could be pulled to go faster.. its more difficult these days to disable the limiter...

In America the posted speed limit in many states is 120 km/h ( 75 Mi/h ) and most owner/operator trucks are geared to cruise at 75 Mi/h @ 1400 RPM. West Texas, I 25 in Wyoming and few other places have posted speed limits at 80 Mi/h ( about 130 km/h ) So far we don’t have mandatory speed limiters. The mandatory electronic onboard recorders of duty status came into effect just a couple of years ago where before we had to keep daily paper logs.

As an American trucker, not too bad. Fastest I've done in my truck was 152 (95 mph). Was even getting decent fuel mileage too

This is not on a German Autobahn. German Autobahn has Blue Roadsigns. This Highway has Green Highway signs. This could be in Slovenia, Kroatia, Italy, etc. Judging by the buildings, the empty Highway and the way the Highway and the sign looks, I would go with Slovenia.

I had a freighshaker up to 106mph once. The company I was with had them governed at 73mph, but had no limiter when going downhill like most do. One time when I was going over the twin sisters on 80 in WY, I decided to turn the jake off and let her eat to see what it'd do. Started feathering the brake at 106, started getting scared I'd have a blow out. Was shocked the company said nothing to me. Never did that again. Was lucky I didn't have something go wrong. Surprisingly though, it was handling smoothly.

Did around 135 km/h in a 420 HP V8 , 20 years ago. The limiter was on the same fuse as the ABS. Unplug, and down Hylkedal in Denmark. Nighttime with no traffic.

I worked for a towing company in the US in high school. I had to do the labor on wrecks and we had the first 425 cummins and the first 500 in the area. We would pass trucks on the hills like they were standing still towing a semi. We once had a driver broke down on a hill, a heavy hauler, and he asked if we had to back down. I still remember the joy of seating in front with my dad and enjoying those views.

My uncle's license was revoked or suspended because of tampering with the speed limiter and being caught driving at excessive speeds. Needless to say some strings had to be pulled in order for him to be allowed on the road again.

In italy they are limitated at 99 km/h for safety reason, and it’s really safer. If a car or worse a bike is going 110 km/h and a truck pass it at 150 km/h the Wind created by the truck would be so strong that can the car/bike skid and make an accident. It has to be a low in every country

Back in the 70's,100mph was no that uncommon on the Hume Hwy between Melb and Sydney or Brisbane,running the big cam 350 cummins overnight.Sadly neither was the amount of lost lives,very dangerous roads single lane ,head on roll overs.

Going 90 km/h downhill with a truck makes my palms sweaty (knees weak, arms heavy), but going 150kph in a truck would actually scare me. And I don't think the brakes are built for those speeds.

Volvo and Scania are the best brands. However, I do not approve of neither of the drivers in this video, even if the truck it is filmed from is a 4-series and the other is a 6-series.

I recall trucks in the UK back in the late 70s and early 80s would struggle uphill on motorways but would approach such speeds downhill and on the level.

this is what i wish would happen if a truck wants to overtake a different truck but instead im just seeing the left lane being blocked by a man struggling to get past the guy on the right lane which is both comedic and super painful to look at

Do your homework ask the old truckies of the 70s and 80s especially the private operators. Many were diesel mechanics or had mates that were , and they new what made them go. Back then these open plains was were they made time and money. No Gps ,no speed limits , no log books. I know of a trucking tycoon who stuck the fastest drag motor in his truck to out run the mob. He appreciates this philosophy and all his kenworth s are the highest hp possible., and now a very large fleet.He was one of the fast ones and started back when they were on petrol. Again do your home work

All trucks in the EU have by law 90km/h engine speed limiters (though the actual road speed limit can be slightly higher, eg in the UK) so these guys have clearly been fucking with their limiters and probably the tachos too and if caught could lose their licenses or even go to prison.

Voloviną załadowany na full bez problemu bujam się do 120 na a1, kiedyś jak latałem ma Kielce to w E5 wskazówka od licznika szła na kolizje że wskazówką paliwa, bo sklai brakowało z tych górek koło Skarżyska.

@@benbrown9053 a truck with a 12 liter engine vs a minivan with a 3 liter engine. 46 tonnes vs 2 tonnes. It definitely is physics.

Trucks at this speed is like elephants running at the same speed as a cheetah, imagine one of these come barreling towards you

These are a common occurrence in Bulgaria and Turkey, because you don't get paid per hour.

Have read the comments. Most people appreciating this shit. It is dangerous, reckless driving. Both truckers should not only fired from their jobs, cancellation of their drivers licences permanently but also should be behind bars for at least one year. Truck driving is not for jokers. Period.

I used to drive an FH460 Volvo someone has possibly tampered with that as it did a proper 65+MPH although the speedometer & digi tacho said 56MPH it was over that which I only noticed when looking at my sat nav on the M60 near Oldham nothing was said to me about it being able to do a naughty speed when starting on it I set the cruise control the maximum 56MPH & looked later on seeing the no's the wrong way round it was slowed down to the correct speed knowing the tyres were not new & thinking of my clean licence
