It's just a way to make gear changes slightly smoother, not necessary but makes lifting the clutch up not so jerky. Old Scania gearboxes are really slow in general, especially changing from high range to low range

Basic murica shitter, blasting bs about some engine that never made it anywhere else than murica, for good reason i'm sure of that. Go back to your oversized shitbox that pulls like half of what this would and is stuck in the 70's and can't even see the rear lights of this thing for longer than 5 seconds. I've seen a murica truck and a european one with the same drivetrain and engine, european made was literally more than twice as fast in a simple acceleration test.
