The Corsican coastline remains one of great diversity, shaped by the elementary forces of nature, between sea and winds.
The landscapes are changing, extreme and varied, from the spectacular peaks of red volcanic rock on the western side, the countless bays and gulfs with a worldwide reputation, to the endless sandy beaches and renowned lakes of the eastern plane.
All around Corsica, there are numerous World Heritage sites and nature reserves. The mission of mankind is to maintain the untouched aspect of these areas, which are also home to migratory birds and other rare species, or form sanctuaries for aquatic life like the marine reserve of Scandola.
