They are all heirs to the thrones of their respective countries. This makes them part of a unique "club". They all understand the pressures of each other's positions. All three seem to be such happy people, enjoying life and sharing fun with each other. A lovely trio.

@@Aritul Victoria Of Sweeden and Frederick of Denmark are second cousins. Frederick and Haakon are third cousins Victoria and Haakon are fourth cousins.

They are not only great friends they are related as well. Frederik and Victoria are second cousins, her father and his mother are first cousins. Crown Prince Haakon of Norway is related to both of them as well, but it’s a few generations further back in the family tree. Haakon’s paternal grandmother was a royal Swedish princess who is also related to Victoria. Haakon’s and Frederik’s great-grandfathers, Haakon the VII of Norway and Christian the X of Denmark, were brothers. Haakon was a Danish prince, the younger brother of Chr. X. The Norwegians wanted a monarchy when they finally gained independence in 1905 from Sweden and they invited King Frederik the VIIIs younger son Carl to take the throne in Norway. Prince Carl only agreed to do so after a referendum on the subject by the Norwegian people who overwhelmingly supported the idea. He then changed his name to Haakon, a name used by kings in Norway for hundreds of years.

They are actually relatives by blood lines, dear friends by connection. This is awesome.

I am fascinated by Scandinavian countries, and it's my dream to visit them some time in the future. :) But just think. Two future kings and one future queen being such good friends! Wonderful, isn't it? :)

They are all descendants of HM Queen Victoria of the UK. HRH Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden (named after her 3X great grandmother) and HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark are 2nd cousins through their great grandmother HRH Princess Margaret of Connaught, Crown Princess of Sweden. HRH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway is their 4th cousin through Queen Victoria. Also 4th cousins are HRH Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales; HM King Felipe IV of Spain; HRH Crown Princess Margareta of Romania; and HRH Crown Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia. HRH Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece, Prince of Denmark is 1st cousin to Frederik of Denmark and 2nd cousin to Victoria of Sweden.

You seemed to have anticipated my question! I wondered what language they spoke amongst one another.

They are the godparents of each others children. Victorias daughter Estelle is named after Crownprincess Mary(2nd name)

They're not just friends. They're relatives.

I just love this!! I'm American, but my ancestors were Norwegian and Danish. These royals seem like the nicest people you could ever want to know! Just one question: when they are together, in what language do these friends communicate with one another? Do they each know all three languages?

Jennifer L Yes they do use their own language. The languages we have (Norwegian, Swedish and Danish) more or less intelligible with each other.
