Scamp in Florida 15: A Strange Campsite at Suwannee River State Park: no service, no toilets, no sun
We arrived at Suwannee River State Park- our last reserved campsite in Florida before starting the journey back up to NJ...and it was an interesting one.
The travel fatigue was starting to show as we were headed into week 7 of the trip.

We are a (sort of) normal couple living a rather unusual lifestyle in a Tiny House on Wheels (192 square feet) trying to fit more adventure, travel, and exploration into our lives! We love to go camping, hiking, backpacking, kayaking…and traveling with our 16-foot Scamp Trailer. We have an awesome Adventure dog named Redford that is up for anything. I'm partial to the Royal Springs area in Suwannee County.
When I did long full summer and full fall travel I would book a night or two every few weeks at a motel to combat camping fatigue. It's mentally refreshing

that is a great strategy to break things up! camping can be heavy on the chores so a day or two at a hotel is a nice change of pace. I will keep that in mind for our future travels 👍
Redford is a sweet Dog. At the end he was so perky.

He is funny- he can go from dead asleep to jumping around like a crazy dog when he hears w-a-l-k 😂😂

Yup, same with our two Dogs.
Way down upon the suwannee river, far , far away. You'll never get a satellite signal, and the old folks like it that way.. (sorry that song is stuck in my head)🙂 Hope you guys had a productive trip. Redford is a super cool doggie.

Internet deprivation anxiety isn't just a millennial thing. I'm not even close to being a millennial, and I need internet while out on the road for all the same reasons you mentioned. Plus I Also use my internet to watch movies on my TV, run a security camera, and a tracking device. My camper has it own phone plan, phone number and internet. Of course none of that does me any good if no service is available. I haven't run into that situation but then again, I don't do deep woods type of camping. Maybe get cell signal booster? glad to know its not just us 😂 It is hard to be that isolated! we decided if we do another long trip like this to more remote areas a cell booster will be a must...but they are not cheap! Red was being such a good sport on this trip- so glad he got to go with us 🐶
We stayed at Stephen foster several times and suwannee river many times ans were in live oak for 4 hours today. WHY did you go so far to get to suwannee....straight up hwy 90
