I guess the reason that the scammers don't log off the moment they get a weird question is that they don't recognize weird questions in English, and they try to make sense of it. I tried feeding a fairly reasonable questions through an English-Japanese-Polish-English online translation chain, and came up with How can you give me all the details? Do I have to do it a little faster? Can you prove that I am that person? Might be a good way to come up with questions that /just/ shade into the twilight zone. It was quite a shocking moment when "The scammer replied 'Okay'...."
@AtomicShrimp

I reckon the 'okay' might have been because the scammer misunderstood 'how best is my try?' to mean 'I will try my best', but yeah, I experienced the same shock too, initially.

Yeah. If I were conversing in a language I wasn’t confident in with another person who I assumed to be more fluent, and they said something that seemed nonsensical, I’d definitely think that the problem was on my end. Did I mistranslate it? Did I misunderstand the grammar? Especially since these questions sound like they make sense, it’s not word salad.
@PabloYaos

might be it, but most of the time I'd think it's because it's possible a non native english speaker might answer things like this. It's better to keep answering because since there is a chance they will comply eventually since they answered to the scam question.

I think you could possibly string the scammers along more if you initially seemed compliant (albeit a bit confused, like a genuine victim would be), and then questions would gradually become more nonsensical. Definitely something to mix into fuller conversations, rather than using alone. I could see this being done as a sort of way to lead the scammer down a pre-determined path of non-sense. Like, perhaps suggesting early on that you're amnesiac or suffer from mild dementia and are prone to forgetting things, to essentially keep forcing the scammer to start over. I don't know if anybody would go along for that ride, but they might, especially if they see you as being compromised and thus more vulnerable.

Hilarious idea! Especially for emails. I've been thinking of some unique ways I can talk to scammers, and I keep getting calls for SSN scams. I said "A recording just said legal action was going to be taken against me!" he said "OK my name is Donald Jefferson and this is my badge #123456 and what is your name?" I said, "What is your name?" he said "My name is Officer Donald Jefferson, did you receive a registration number or case number?" "Nope!" He said "What?" I said, "And how can I help you?" He said "No no no, Is this (my first name)?" I said "Donald Jefferson." ... he was quiet for a moment and then he hung up. I will have to also have to develop the method further to make it last longer, so it sounds like I'm confused and not just messing around. It did make me laugh though. If someone _does_ believe in religion, but not the one the scammer has, they either believe in that stereotype, or alternatively fall back to "different religion is bad". They still can be just neutral about that. If someone believes in _the same_ religion as the scammer, depending on how much they got indoctrinated, they will either be neutral, act according to that stereotype, _or_ rarely believe that the scammer can't be wrong purely because the scammer is following their religion. What if you gave scammers an actual photo of a steam gift card, with the code revealed, but it was a card you (or someone else) had already used? Hey Shrimp, I was wondering if you’d consider doing a “blooper reel”-esque thing for your scam baiting series, or incorporating a few bloopers into the actual videos, like you did that one time when you burst out laughing. I’m not sure how you feel about it, but I personally found that really endearing and funny, so I think either adding a few more (not in a way that would ruin the video though) or creating a “scammers who dumped me”-esque series would be neat. I’m so used to your calm, collected voice, it would be refreshing to hear you laughing about how terrible a scam is. Although, I suppose if the bloopers aren’t common enough, there wouldn’t be a reason to edit them together. Bottom line: keep up the good work! These videos are great.

Certainly there are plenty of spoken bloopers - I often have to take several runs at phrases like 'totally legitimate'

@@AtomicShrimp If there are enough of them and you’re up for it, I think doing a blooper reel series as an aside to the scam baiting might be nice every once in a while. It would be something new, and you could just use existing unused takes instead of having to run through a whole conversation with a scammer. Of course, what series you make are up to you, I just figured this might be a neat idea
Scam bites! Sounds like another thing from a weird thing in a can.

"United State, singular, can't get more united than that" Absolute gold right there
It's like listening to stories of Frog and Toad, but scambaiting.
This has a lot of potential

"Where do I wonder if its a joke?" Right here Shrimp, you wonder right here.
Is this an absolutely brilliant concept? In all seriousness, your style of scambaiting is legendary and hilarious. I'm going through a rough time right now and this made me laugh hard, which hasn't been easy lately. Thank you so much for doing this. Keep up the good work!

This is a novel idea.
I like this new take on scam baiting. It provides a fresh take on the kind of material that we get back from them.
Great stuff! Always enjoy watching this kind of content!!
I suspect this might work quite well when interspersed in more "regular" conversation, where the scammer would be forced into taking the broken sentences more seriously and not being able to perhaps just write the mailbox off as single-sentence gibberish. Entertaining nevertheless!
I wish all scammers used comic sans in their emails
Your videos always make me smile. Thanks for the great content!
That was good. Appreciate the content you create!
The sablity of this video is completely glarded.😁
Respond to aggression with righteous indignation. Respond to bad English with confusion, and worse English.
I really like your experimental approach to scambaiting. I find it even more interesting to watch, as well as entertaining.
I loved the epistemological ramifications of your broken questions😂
I just answer in completely incoherent sentences. "But how as wasn't if not money and was understand with real?"
They sounded like Yahoo Answers questions, the ones with terrible grammar (how is pregnant formed ?), good stuff

If my cats have the gist of that, it involves a whole lot of screaming and bumping into resonant obstacles around the garden, all during what should be the still of the night. Meow.
Oh my god when you showed the picture of the saffron in the supermarket. And the tag said "it is not a gold" i legit spat my drink out. V entertaining. Your videos are a highlight at the moment. Keep it up! You deserve all the success. A favourite KZread easily
these broken questions are just really funny. same with the horrendous grammar of the scammers, as usual. another good video!

Dude i've just discovered your chanel with your scambaiting videos and i have to say that you are a genius , it's so fun and interesting to see you mess with thoses filthy criminals , looking forward to see more of that amazing content . Keep up the good work men.
maybe combine this with the made up words like "Am i glarded?" or "How can I glard this?"
Seems like this idea just keeps them on script or makes them give up without much in the middle.
Gonna save this to watch during lunch. Seems like an interesting video, looking forward to watching. Thanks for the great content as always
These scam videos are hilarious. I always share them!

Yet another beyond entertaining video. Thanks!
It's hard to believe that some people fall for these scams, but they do and £millions are lost to the scammers every year. You are doing great work, well done.
