Over the next two sessions, you’ll learn how scales and modes interact with each other. This month, we’ll look at relative modes. Which is a great starting point for learning how to solo up and down the neck.

This lesson really unlocked fretboard mastery for me. So easy to do these modal scales going up and down the neck, which really helped me with knowing the location of the notes. Thanks for this.
Very helpful, thank you
Thanks! You confused me less than all the other explanations of these scales that I have encountered.
I’m gearing up to getting a Kala low g electric Uke, probably in a couple of months. For now I put a capo on the 5th fret of my (small size) classical guitar to mimic some of the scales, and practicing these notes, scales and chords as best I can. I can’t wait to sign up to your site’s membership. What an excellent presentation! I got so much out of it!

Wow that was an awesome lesson. Cleared up a lot of confusion. I’m off to play some a minor rumba with e Phrygian 💃🏻🎸

🤯 I will go print the PDF and re-watch this!

Thank you so much, Joshua! I really appreciate your support!
I've been trying to work on scales and making progress by learning shapes relative to root notes. So then my crutch to play in any given key is to find a convenient root and go from there. But now I'm thinking I need to stop that and get used to starting on any note. Still need to follow the shapes but can play any key any place. It's a different way of thinking! Thanks for this.
Haha! I love the sound of lydian :P
