SBS Transit Bus 182 breaks down! (SBS3509G)
SBS3509G, a Batch 4 Volvo B9TL (Wright Eclipse Gemini 2) had its engine cut off 4 times before I started recording the video.
The Bus Captain tried to rectify the issue by restarting the engine but shortly after the same issue happened again. Therefore he had to declare breakdown at the nearest bus stop to the Operations Control Centre, before slowly driving the bus back to Soon Lee Bus Park for repairs.
Some facts about this bus:
- Leased to SBS Transit with SBS Transit livery from 2015 to September 2016 in Bedok North Depot (BNDEP).
- Transferred to Go-Ahead Singapore under Loyang Depot (LYDEP) in September 2016 and had its exterior repainted from SBS Transit Livery to Lush Green Livery.
- Leased BACK to SBS Transit in January 2022 as part of the CDGE B9TL replacement.
- During time of filming, this bus was a cameo from service 243W.

I've experienced breakdowns 2 times this yr for this kind of model lol. Firstly, the bus drives very slowly from the start. When the driver starts to run from uphill, it won't move. Kinda like stuck on 2nd or 3rd gear? idk. Secondly, the engine overheated after a long run. The first deck already felt stuffy. The bus wouldn't start moving from the bus stop.

Could be the ECU. These days hard to tell the exact problem just by looking, very different from what it was 10 years ago.
