partisan49 Unfortunately you *still* can't do that even in the sequel to EAFront. You still only spawn in as a fighter or tank. You can't just hop in like in Battlefront Classic/Pandemic or Battlefield.

Karl Hiramanek m8 i love the old bf2 to. But accept that ea is not goning to copy the old games. That was the problem with The force awakens. It was too much like the old movies. If you want this all so much then pray for a remasterd version of battlefront 2 (2005)

In terms of looks, 04 is amazing for its age but 15 takes the win obviously...Gameplay is a completely different story though.

this just makes you realize how ahead of their time they were in 04

The overall graphics in the 2015 battlefront are obviously 'better', but the actual art design of the 2004 battlefront kind of looks better based on the maps shown. The Tattooine battle looks more lively in the 2004, the interior design of the random hut shown looks better, and even the droid looks more detailed somehow. On Hoth it's harder for me to see why people say '2004 is better' but I at least see it with the tattooine map.

+Captain Flippers Yeah because they had to fit over 100 soldiers running around with aircraft, tanks, walkers, and other vehicles. Turns out that kind of gameplay isn't suited for corridor shooting and clustered maps.

+Captain Flippers Did you just use the servers argument? Players have been hosting private servers using their own personal money that can house 200 players in an FPS battle without any server-side lag for well over a decade. Servers are not, have not been, and never will be a problem with larger player caps. Battlefront, the good ones, had 64 players and 64 bots in a single match without lag back on 2004 servers. If they could manage it then we sure as fuck can manage it now.

Yeah, I tried to be very careful and not say 'The game is looks better' and rather say 'The maps shown' I haven't played battlefront in many years so for all I know they might be just as barren as you describe. I was only saying based on the video, Tattooine looks more lively and action-packed in the 2004 version than the 2015 version. Just based on art design, not the gameplay shown. For example, there are star destroyers flying around in the 2004 tattooine skybox that are much more visible than the ((Perhaps more accurate but much harder to see) star destroyers of the 2015 skybox. Fighters zipping around in the sky are a huge distance away which, again, makes sense from an accuracy-of-setting standpoint but from an art design standpoint, it's a lot more exciting to see those fighters fly closer to the ground like shown in the footage. Plus the interior of that random hut shown in 2004 BF looks more lively than the 2015 one, which is just a dark circular... hovel thingy from the outside. In 2004 it has this psychadelic teal lighting or something from the outside, heh. The Hoth versions look a lot more comparable in design, though, and the 2015 one has clearly better fidelity and all that jazz, so it's harder for me to say much just by the comparison videos. I've never played the 2015 version so I have no idea how the gameplay feels for that.All I can say is it looks like you (Captain Flippers) enjoyed SWBF 2015, and if that's the case then good on you! ^.^

The only thing better in 2015 BF are the visuals....other than that Its perfect example of shitty "triple A" games we get these days far too often. Hopefully the sequel will be better, atleast its gonna have proper singleplayer campaign.

Doubtful. EA's pretty clueless, so they've probably put a bunch of money into a half-assed story mode, without actually improving the gameplay. It'll probably be the same as Battlefront, when what people wanted was the large, open scale of the first two games. The ability to hop in a fighter and fly over the map, look down, and see big battles occurring with dozens of players and bots fighting, because the whole point of the games was to make you feel like you were in massive battles. Battlefront completely fucked up the scale, confining you to relatively small maps, with a far smaller number of players and bots, which is why the general opinion dropped a lot more after the initial hype was over. EA will probably fuck up the next one the same way, but enough retards will buy it and praise it that they'll still make a nice profit.

Part of it's the color pallette. BF2 is a lot of grey and other muted colors, it just doesn't pop the same way.

This game was my childhood. Countless hours of me and my dad playing multiplayer against each other. Oh how I wish I could relive those days, not worrying about GCSE exams.

I thought this was going to be another utterly worthless graphics comparison vid, but it actually delved into the gameplay a bit and showed how much more was going on in the original, so very well done.

i still have battlefront (2005), the problem is that the campaing is just the miltiplayer, but with the movies as cutscene, but i still love it, and i will keep it safe with me until it is no longer there, so it would be a legend

In the previous battlefronts you take the starship from the ground? If thats so, then it respawn or there was only 1 starship to use?

If somebody showed me Battlefront 2015 back in 2004 I literally wouldn't believe it. I remember when the PS3 came out and I saw the demo for Resistance: Fall of Man. I thought the graphics were so good they looked real lol. That's technology for you. We'll probably all be living in the Matrix in 20 years.

I hate to sound like a nostalgic fan boy of the originals (which I totally am), but the original 2 Battlefront had something the EA remake just doesn't: heart. There was so much heart in Pandemic's Battlefronts (play Battlefront 2's campaign for proof) and it had some really memorable moments, like when you play as Imperial Stormtroopers fighting rogue Clone Troopers on Kamino. I only hope the EA Battlefront 2 is a game that the developers actually cared about instead of the soulless and DLC ridden EA Battlefront

For my opinion the use of the tow-cable looks more realistic in the classic swbf1. The cable is not really sticking on the ATAT in the EA version.

Suprised at how good the 2004 one is. I belive it was laaunched near the end of the Xbox's lifecycle, but it has aged very well.

Should compare the flight controls to eachother because of how watered down the new battlefront's controls are

Battlefront 2004 is my favorite out of the games released on PC. On the other hand, I really like battlefront Elite Squadron for the PSP

I'm optimistic for the next entry in the EA series. Even though the last one was a let down, I get the idea that they have learned from their mistakes.

Simply put: BF 2004 is a good game with graphics that were impressive for it's day and BF 2015 is a game with amazing graphics but poor gameplay and a disgusting lack of content.

I spent countless hours on BF1. 2004 was a laugh a good time

at 1:02 in battlefront 2004 the Sarlac didn't have mouth because in the movie return of the jedi from 1983 he really didn't had mouth but in 2015 battlefront he has the mouth because it is made by the 2011 remake of episode 6 where he had his mouth.

Here's the choice: A. Play a game that whilst dated is still good to look at for its time, is incredibly fun and gives you the true feeling of being a part of the battles in ground, air and space, all of which in the game and open for you and all your friends to mess around with and enjoy at your own leisure. Or B. Play a game that has a striking resemblance to the Kardashian's in that it's amazing to look at, has little to nothing in terms of soul or anything to love and the most desirable assets you see have been bought and weren't there to begin with.

the biggest difference in terms of fidelity is the the particle effects. Don't get me wrong the other the textures and lighting is fantastic too but my god the particle effects are just on a whole other level.

2004 is ran at a far higher resolution than what can be honestly said is representative of the experience we got in 2004 from the game with the hardware at the time. 90% of gamers ran the game at less than 480p on console unless you bought the actual component cables which would allow 480p progressive scan. The most BEAST pc hardware could potentially run 720p. So for everyone amazed at how good the game from 2004 looks, find actual footage of the game in its native resolution from back in the day and you will see a much more substantial improvement in 2015 graphics.

I haven't played either of the games. But in general when it comes to graphics you adapt get used to it so fast, when you focus on the core gameplay. Even though the new version looks impressive, I get dizzy by all the details to process. It's not only heavy to process for the hardware, but for the brain as well?! :p Especially looking at the scene when the spaceship spinning around that big four legged thingy. I got really dizzy by looking at the gameplay from the new version.

The original was awesome, graphics are not all. I loved especially Battlefront 2 on my PS2. I think about getting the PC version but are the servers already shut down?

Kemal Sunal there is game ranger but I don't see much people play on it and it's mostly hero battles they only play, there is a lot of cool mods to play on the PC for example battlefront legacy is a mod which is basically porting the canceled battlefront 3 maps into battlefront 2.

I think I preferred the design of Battlefront 1's X-Wing console. The modern one looks too plain in my opinion, regardless of their desire to stick to the source material. The fact that you had to manually pilot the snowspeeder to trip the AT-AT appears that it takes more skill than essentially performing a manual from Tony Hawk.

Played both. 2004 battlefront was my favorite game back when I was kid and the graphics was amazing. My PC was not very good back then so I could not run it smoothly, but still it was amazing and it looked that way. 2015 battlefront looked also very nice - it also was after all, but in comparison to my gameplay experience, the graphics opinion is far from being better than 2004 Battlefront.

While a lot of people are correctly pointing out that the 2015 version's graphics are objectively better, I have to say... a small part of me kinda prefers the 2004 graphics. I don't know why-- maybe because I played the game so much while growing up-- but the original had a certain charm about it that nobody else will ever be able to replicate, and I feel like the graphics kinda reflect that

Battlefront 2 had space battles, hero classes and maps from episode 3. Battlefront 1 had slightly better graphics, but Battlefront 2 had much faster loading screens and ran better.

Visually, the Battlefront reboot was a masterpiece. It's just disappointing that the gameplay was so far from the successful original Battlefront 2 formula.
