I didn't plan to watch this, i just happened to land on this page but when i saw SB19 i played it because my kids are talking about them being Filipinos who are known to be great singers. Upon listening and reading the lyrics, i was moved and became emotional. Suddenly i missed my parents and at the same time thinking, as a parent myself, Am I doing enough for my kids? Would they miss me also when they grow up? This question surely will linger for a while in my head. Thanks for sharing this beautiful song.

Their leader Pablo is such a thoughtful lyricist. All of their songs are so meaningful. Their song Ilaw (a song about their journey to fame and how it affects mental health) and Liham (letter to their fans) are great songs too. I love MAPA. It speaks about their gratitude to their parents. They always sing with their heart, no filter. What you see when they perform are not idols but them as their true authentic selves. Yess please, for me ilaw is their best ballad song so far, the live stage performance of ilaw on Round Festival 2023 is highly recommended, the official broadcast of the performance just got released on Round Festival channel a few days ago

Their ballads are so so good, one of the reasons why I like them. Pablo write most of their lyrics. "HANGGANG SA HULI" is my all time favorite ballad from their early days. You should check more of their live performances. "ILAW" with Rappler is a must watch!

Correction please, this was written before the pandemic. It was during the time they were doing their tour in the 10 cities/provinces here in the PH. The boys were doing their laundry when Pablo came up and asked what they want to say to their parents, since they were missing their families that time because they were busy on tour.

The one thing about our boys is their live performances are better than the studio version of the song. Also our pinuno pablo is such a great composer that gives each member their section to sing their part of the song which showcases or fits their voice. Glad to see you appreciate his genius. Such a creative mind in composing a masterpiece no matter what genre it may be.

And that Pablo d leader who wrote almost all songs of SB19,HE IS A REAL GENIUS!!!!

This song was born out of a laundry room when the boys were quarantined together due to Covid. They miss their families so much so Pablo asked them what would they like to tell their parents and he made a song about it. MAPA lyric video has more than 90M views. Just recently, Selecta, an ice cream brand which they endorse, collaborated with them for an MV and it showcased their childhood memories. When they sang this at their 1st online concert, their parents went out on stage towards the end, except Ken's. Due to poverty, Ken's parents were forced to work in Malaysia, leaving him and his sister in the care of their grandparents. Both his father and grandfather are Christian pastors. At that time, Ken only met his parents twice, once when he was 5 yrs old and the other time when he was in college. Imagine his surprise when his sister and uncle came out. Ken was so overwhelmed he fell on the floor crying. This was the other members' surprise for him. They arranged to fly his sister and uncle to Manila from the province. As Justin later said, they're happy seeing Ken smiling. And when Ken's parents finally were able to see them personally in concert, another heartwarming instance took place. The other boys were facing the audience while singing Mapa, Ken was facing his parents singing it to them 😢😢😢. Inspite of their difficulties in life, Ken remained a loving and grateful son. Hi there, MAPA is a double meaning. Mapa is map in Tagalog and also mA for Mama and Pa for Papa. Actually the lyrics also got a verse describing our moms as our MA (mata) means eyes in Tagalog and our PA (paa) means feet. So our mother serves as our eyes when we were little and our fathers serves as our feet when we were just crawling and cannot walk yet. This song is a tribute to our parents or whoever serves as our guardian and those that loves us unconditionally. Mapa will forever have a special place in m6 heart (the first time i listened to this, I cried buckets). A masterpiece. Their songs are written by Pablo (99%) and he is one of my favourite lyricists that I have come to know. This is why I would always recommend to listen to their music first with subtitles and Live performances are a must. Watch Liham on Wish Bus USA as it has subtitles. If you haven't heard of Wish USA in the US, it's because it's originally from the PH. Wish USA only has very few guest appearances like this and it's mostly catered towards Filipino diasporas who miss their home (meaning they play Filipino songs or invite Filipino artists) so it's not very popular among common Americans.

Worth noting also is their ability to sing at such a stable voice while dancing such complicated and fast paced steps without any trace of decline of tone quality. It's insane!

If you want to hear their skills in doing perfect harmony. Listen to their “Hangang sa huli” live version during the 2022 Asean-Korea Round Festival. That was the best exhibition of their vocals and harmonies.

Mapa was my childrens favorite song by SB19. As in they all knew the whole lyrics just by listening to their video in there yt channel. And they also love to dance the Gento.❤ But my favorite was the I Want You,Liham and Ilaw.❣️❣️

They are amazing vocalists with impeccable harmonization. The closest group to compare vocally from Kpop would probably be TVXQ and none in the past decade of kpop groups. SB19 is on a different level when it comes to vocals.

Liham and Ilaw is a very emotional song of them,its in their pagtatag album last year.Liham is a love letter, Pablo wrote this for their fans called ATIN.If you are an ATIN I'm sure you'll gonna love that song.Their song ILAW is about thier struggles being in a limelight,and that one is my favorite❤

The band version is even more amazing if you can believe that! They collaborated with another ph folk-pop band 'Ben&Ben' and did it all in one shot! I honestly cry every time I watch it.

This song is now sang during graduations and Mother's or Father's Day or Grandparents' Day. Wish Bus performance for LIHAM is also very good. i would also recommend for their Rappler live performance for ILAW though you might like to check the lyric video for official English translation but their live is just really really heartfelt.

Nyebe is also touching to me because it talks about longing. It's like they put into a song the feelings a lot of people are going through with loss, separation and even depression.
