Hi~ here are some few notes here since the song have a lot of Filipino references: 1. Pablo cooking scene - The ingredients in the pot he's cooking are for the Filipino dish called "nilaga", this is reference to PH proverb, "Pag may tiyaga, may nilaga" which means "hard work has its rewards" 2. Stell shower scene - In PH since the weather is very hot here our body produces this "sour" smell in the armpit (that's why we always use deo) so people who don't take of their hygiene here are called "maasim" literally "sour" so then he said in the lyrics that no matter how sweaty and sour he smell after all the hardwork he did all day the haters are more "sour" than him/them. 3. Josh rap part - He said that he will not swallow a stone because he's not Darna, Darna is a PH Icon Comics hero, she swallows a "stone" before she transform on her Darna form, so what he's saying is he's no superhero. - He said that he's his own mechanic and don't need "Moniko", this is reference to a PH tongue twister: "Minikaniko ni Moniko, ang makina ni Monika" which translate to "Moniko fixed Monika's engine" so he's saying that he doesn't need anyone's help to build himself. 4. Justin switch with the dog - This is reference to Filipino term "dogshow" used when you are clowning/making fun of something/ someone. It can either be you're making fun of another person or you're making fun of yourself. It's "dogshow" because on literal dog shows, the dogs are being displayed to the public to make "tricks" who else does "tricks"?- Clowns. 5. SB19 no eyebrows scene - If you raised your eyebrows on someone, you're judging them, right? Or being mean to them. On the MV lyrics says to burn their brows. In PH there is this saying when you are studying hard, "nagsusunog ng kilay" which means burning their brows because their faces are buried on the book. So they're probably saying that instead of raising your eye brows on someone (judge them) why don't u just burn your brows (study) because the haters are basically dumb. EXTRA: Not a Filipino reference but at the end, the alien scene, they're actually mocking their Alab MV. (watch alab my again and focus on the last part) This is because during that time they are fully managed by their Korean management SBT which made them do things they don't want to do as the group. In Alab MV, for example, they are promoted as "PPOP" but the MV literally starts and ended with someone speaking in Korean so PH netizens bashed SB19 about being a KPOP wanna be, no originality, and having no Filipino roots in their music. Pablo has a genius mind creating a song with 2 deep different meaning. It means "Like this" and "Gold".

They nailed this comeback and they are more of themselves now than before.

Glad that you also love there new song, they said in their live yesterday that they will be having variety of genre included in there EP there will be a ballad, RNB and Hip Hop and they said its going to be sexy 😊😊😊. Pablo asked the members of what genre they want. Josh suggested EDM, Ken - hiphop, Justine - acoustic, Pablo also mentioned RNB. Maybe, these are the genres of their EP

Pablo explained in their All Out Sunday guesting that SB19 is “gento” or “like this”. “We’re like this.” He said this song summarizes SB19’s journey to success. Much like ginto (tagalog for gold), you need to persevere, push boundaries before you can achieve what you want in life. And on their IG live he said the MV itself contains a lot of satire and Filipino references. I think others have a lot of theories and explanations about this. Thanks for the RV! wrong it was supposed to refer to GOLD. ginto - in some dialects the accent or pronunciation is gento.

Bento is a Japanese lunch box that has several compartments. In this mv there are 5 compartmemts. Each compartment contains one dish that could stand on its own. With all 5 unique delicious dish, the bento gives a fine gustatory experience.

They just misspelled Ginto to gento - in some of our dialects "ginto" actually is being pronounced as gento because if the accent. If you have watched the video the font for "GENTO" is gold, as a video editor myself I would'nt do that unless I meant it to represent something and most of what they did in the video represents something. Like the cooking of "nilaga", refers to kapag may tiyaga may nilaga. They are after all mining for "GOLD" in the video. In life if you are hungry for succes it would be like mining for gold, it is not easy but if you work hard you might find a gold mine.

Most of what they’re saying is a metaphor...its not just lyrics...you have to somewhat dig in to your inner self. SB19 plays with tagalog words. Gento is shortcut for ganito meaning “like this”....and at the same time they say Ginto meaning gold in tagalog.
