You know what my friend, consider this the best thing to ever happen to you. In 2018 I had been working a cushy government job. I was making decent money. Great pension, benefits etc. Dinners and drinks covered. I thought this was the job I was going to retire in. One day before my shift started my director asked me to come see him, very causally like he asked me to do hundreds of times I went into his office and there was an HR rep my boss’ boss and security. I was fired and walked out of the building. At the time I thought my life was over and I felt lower than low. Worthless. Then after some self reflections I realized. I had become overweight, complacent, and entitled. I started using my newfound free time to exercise, go back to school, eat right and to be grateful every day. Honestly my friend best thing that ever happened. I now have a career and I’m making almost double what I was making. I made some great investment decisions, prepping for law school and planning on retiring at 45. I’m 36 now. If I were still in that job I would still be fat, complacent and on schedule to retire at 65+ As my dad would always say, eat steak when you have teeth in your mouth and travel while your legs still work. Meaning don’t wait until “later” or retirement to enjoy your life when you’re older. Best of luck! Trust me this is the best thing to happen to you. It’s hard at first I won’t lie but in 4 years time you’ll come back to this thread and say best thing the happened to me 🙏💯

Everything happens for a reason. I was quickly spiraling out of control in my alcoholism when I got fired last and got into a DWI, i bought a telephone pole the hard way and lost my license. Been sober for 12 years now and have only improved with time. I don't recommend taking my path to find where you are ment to be but i do hope your journey takes you to good places.

Regarding the Naples story, it sounded to me like Chazz's ego got a bit dented by not getting the celebrity benefits he's used to, which on this occasion would've involved kitchen staff working during their siesta. He then told lies about the establishment on social media. Doesn't sound very positive to me.

@@davidfoster7149 I am a fan of these gentlemen, but saying the pizza sucked and the place was dirty did go somewhat overboard. He could have voiced his displeasure over the actual events surrounding that evening. That said, we're going to watch Bullets Over Broadway because Chazz put us in the mood, lol. One more thing...and this has nothing do do with the topic. OK, I understand some workings of "the mob", one being "they leave the average Joe alone". I know they would have issues with each other, sometimes leading to death, and that the average person had nothing to fear. In fact they sometimes benefited. My question is, isn't a business owner an 'average Joe'? In the film 29th Street, I believe, they charged "protection fees" to a bakery owner. Wasn't this S.O.P for the Cosa Nostra, and wasn't this an example of harassing the average guy?

I am pretty sure some of us the audience can relate to their histories somehow. For those who had battle and overcome diversities, road blocks and other challenges and we are still standing with our heads-up and smile… bravo keep going. Hopefully, one day I will get the opportunity to shake their hands if not, my respect and admiration will always be there. Loved this sit down. I could listen to you and Chaz everyday on a show. Chaz is such a great conversationalist. You had said there were classes of guys, some were just like thugs. Right away I thought of a conversation I heard with Henry Hill RIP, where Henry said some of the guys scared him but he felt comfortable with them, BUT Tommy DeSimone terrified him. Henry said Tommy was bat crazy and he avoided him when Tommy was mad.

It's impossible Not to love Chazz Palminteri, not just as an actor, but as an authentic person and human being. That kind of warmth, love, and respect for everyone, no matter what your station in life, is what makes him the true man that he is. Among the many excellent guests Michael has hosted, Chazz remains one of the greatest. A salud.

I really needed to see this.. acting classes, and indie projects I've worked on have given an outlet to a lot of chatoic and aggressive inner pressure I've bit back on my entire life... My late father told me for almost the whole 21 years we had together that violence- sometimes premeditated and impersonal, was a family cycle I was to break. The more I think on it, the fleeting stories he let slip about being recruited for a loan sharking operation were probably best left not completely told. Our last lucid conversation, the old man stated his wishes for me to get into character acting, so I carry a guitar and a script. Thank you Mr. Franzese and Mr. Palmineteri for what you do!

Hi, Michael. Your awesome! Your explanations and the way you compose yourself is so honest and down to earth. You remind me of one of my favorite teachers I had back in high school. I've been binge watching your channel. I've always admired mobsters. Love them. I have a fascination with Frank Nitti and the whole 20s and 30s era as well. This episode was very exciting. Chazz is one of my all time favorite actors.
