Saying Goodbye To Carters Steam Fair - LAST EVER DAY! Reading October 30th 2022
Hello, Join us for an emotional last ever visit on the last ever day to Carters Steam Fair, if you’ve been living under a rock you might not know but Carters are no longer travelling, It’s just hit cost effective, With the rise in prices for pretty much everything.
Joby Carter announced this would in fact be the final tour so it’s only right i went to pay my respects to not only the fair but to friends I’ve made visiting Carters over the years, It just so happened to be Andy’s meet up (We didn’t go for that honestly) But it was nice to see him and some other enthusiasts and channels on the day.
Hopefully this isn’t the end of Carters Steam Fair, They are looking for a permanent home under cover away from the harsh British weather to help maintain the beautiful art work, Something like Folly Farm in Wales.
So join myself and Aaron for a final vlog here, We got on some of the classics including The Lightning SKID, Octopus, Gallopers, Chair-O-Plane, Dodgems and Jets whilst taking in the atmosphere and watching everyone have a really good time.
We’ve always got these vlogs to look back on to remember the good times, these memories will last a lifetime.
All the best to Joby and his family, The staff and everyone involved with Carters Steam Fair.
Obviously not Elkins, Cooper… Carters isn’t really for them.. they prefer the modern machine.

A fair I grew up with as a kid, it certainly did have a good run and hopefully it finds a good place to rest because these rides are priceless

I used to love the Octopus when I was a kid I remember being on once & my car started spinning like crazy & when they activated the tilt I was so dizzy i didn't know whether I was going upside down or inside out, grate ride 🤮🤮🤣🤣😂😂
Went to Croxley green few months ago such a shame it’s ending surely someone with a few quid can save this historical pleasure .

Hey Dave it’s sad to see the fair go but the rides look really good
Hopefully they will find a permanent place to put they rides and with time maybe add some more retro ride if they can afford it. Hopefully it won't be to far of a stretch for me to travel to it so I can go and ride these rides.

First I have heard - gutted, my daughter and I love it the most (Bensons are good, but the sounds and smells at Carters are one of a kind)

I got the Joke an Dave you are the best fair vlog u tube personality out there, all the bigger ones are boring and formal , when you an Si with the boys start riding with the banter it’s real. No1 else will beat the energy they just been doing this for 10 years. Watch what happens in a couple years if you keep this up

A truly brilliant vlog Dave... yes sad but we now all have memories forever thanks to all the vloggers and for me Slothy Vlogs #1 seen Joby many times on TV always comes across a top chap and I'm sure Carters will be back sometime soon. Aw, I went to the Hornsey fair and it was brilliant, love the cars and trucks, Andy is a legend as are you guys, I hope Carter's find a permanent location for their fair, I would come along! If you want to try a similar travelling fair, check out Harris's Vintage funfair, they are based in the south. Nice to see Nox on there, he's from my neck of the woods x Hayes Fabrications Skid, Hayes Fabrications Octopus, Supercar "Italia" hybrid dodgems on a Supercar track, Lang Wheels Jets (owned by Alex Hyman), Savages Gallopers, nice Chair-O-Planes, no idea of the make, It's funny, I love Chair-O-Planes and Wave Swingers but I can't do Waltzers, you are the other way round x Fantastic but sad vlog, good luck to Joby and his family for the future xx

Was planning on coming but unfortunately the cost of living crisis has impacted the distance I’m able to travel atm
Great to see this video with Dave and Aaron up at the last Travelling Carter’s, steam fair. It looked amazing up there with some rely good shots from Dave. Loved the Octopus and the jets. Very similar to mine and Aaron’s parents old ones. Good job guys Thank you Carter’s steam fair. Hopefully see you on a permanent site one day

An excellent and well documented video. 'Brooklands Museum' If they have a spare hanger or two would make a fantastic resting place alongside all of those vintage cars and planes. As it is Carters are hiring out some juvenile rides in the vicinity over Christmas. Doesn't Joby Carter's father-in-law run the Devon & Dorset steam fair?

It's a shame that the whole outfit cannot be set up in one of those old aircraft hangers in the field next door to the existing yard, as per Dingles in Devon.
