Never ever apologize for crying. I watch reaction videos for a true and honest reaction. The role of the artist is to move the person seeing or viewing or watching the art. When we are so moved just as you said it goes straight to our soul. A soul that is hungry for something but you do not know what until you hear or see and are moved by a piece of art. That fills your soul back up. I applaud you for your true and honest reaction and your words. You are not afraid to show vulnerability and I love that in a reactor. Anton Chekov, a Russian philosopher, says that the role of the artist is not to answer questions but to ask them. And that is what you did at the beginning you spoke your truth what it caused you to think where it took you cuz everybody's truth is going to be different. It was a beautiful reaction. I think you would also really enjoy their cover of shallow

Matt honey, coming from a lady old enough to be your grandma, don't ever apologize for getting emotional. I wish more men would be that way. Well said, Darlene. I echo all that you said ( including the "old enough to be his grandma" bit). It certainly won't be the last song by the PTX crew that will make him emotional. Their wonderful renditions make many of us feel exactly the same. They just wouldn't be worth listening to if they didn't make us run the gamut of emotions the songs they do are meant to.

From one Darlene to another. I’ll be 68 this month and I am a true blue Pentatonix fan. I saw them on The Sing Off and noticed all the other groups were applauding madly whenever they sang. From groups viing for that $25,000 Sony contract all of them could see something special in them. I’ve enjoyed them ever since and keep checking for new material. Their original music is special too. All their covers are upgrades from the original artist. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

One of my top PTX videos. For me, Kirstie puts so much emotion into the song that it turns it into something very special. I've heard it hundreds of times by now, and it still brings tears to my eyes, too. I believe that this was the first time Kevin played the cello in a video with the group.

The look they were going for on the video was a painting so they were trying really hard to be still during filming. You know that had to bother Scott the most. This is why Scott is white knuckling the chair he is holding on too. Songs with Kevin playing his cello or with him singing are the most special ones. If you don't cry on at least five Pentatonix songs you may be dead or a zombie.

The genesis of this performance is a still life painting, just barely coming to life. You can *feel* the pain expressed by Kirstie, and the rest of the vocalists (and cello) amplify and echo her pain. This video moves me deeply. I'm introspective by nature, this... this ... this moves me in ways i cannot explain. No words, even after several tens of views.

Every failure is a lesson and that is how we grow as individuals. Don't worry if you cry or use a tissue, many of us have one in our hand watching you. It may be sad, or tears of joy but PTX is always emotional. They often sing with their hands and movements to express themselves. Fun fact: They wanted this video to be like a photograph to focus on the words and meaning. Scott had a hard time if you watch his grip on the chair. They are Outstanding and so are you. Avi, Mitch and Scott did a fabulous job supporting her while Kevin was the icing on the cake. Kirsten came out with her own solo project a couple of years ago and I think you will like Break a Little (I believe she wrote that and all the rest of the songs). There is the official video and the acoustic version, both are great for different reasons as it showcases Kirsten in a music video setting and the acoustic version with other musicians. From up out of the chair dancing for the 90's dance medley to whatever memory wrenched your heart and made you so sad for this one. Music doesn't do that to everyone but it does to me and while I am sorry the sad ones make us relive the sad experiences, I am so grateful to know there's a kindred spirit in the world who can feel it so deeply and still recognize the beauty of the performance through the tears.

Often, when they wanted to especially express emotion, they chose Avi...just because of that tone. Standing By and Light in the Hallway are 2 excellent ones in that category

We're right there with you Matt! Don't know of you've done it yet but when you were talking about Avi's voice I was thinking you definitely need to react to Silent Night(live) & the lyric video for Light on the Hallway(written by Scott for his nephew!) You'll love them!

Just realize Avi sings Light in the Hallway not Scott if you use the lyric video instead of a live performance of it. Some reactors just assume it is Scott but Avi always sang that live and it is one of the last 2 songs they did at his final performance when he left at the end of their 2017 tour.

you should definitely check out AHA live in Singapore, done on a camera phone so video and sound not brilliant but you will get the idea if you check it out you will be even more amazed than you usually are with their other works. side note: Kevin is apparently putting away Beyonce and joins the rest of them on the stage later so you can hear him but don't see him.
