Thank you! This is just the feedback I needed. I will shortly be uploading a 12 lesson series for complete beginners on sax plus other stuff (now I have a better camera!) and the idea is that everyone very easy to follow. Thanks again and feel free to suggest songs you think I should do

@@amathesaxylady ok and keep up the good work. I like the way how you break the music down and with the music sheet which is a great help and a beautiful melodic tone also I would be interested in what reeds and mouth piece you use and I am definitely a fan.great stuff!

@@koffi3415 Hi Keith. Sorry not to get back to you sooner. Skype/Zoom lessons are something I am consider so keep nagging me! I play both tenor and alto, and although I started on tenor and actually prefer it, I play alto a lot more nowadays as it really suits the pop gigs which seem to be in demand. So for the alto I use a Jody Jazz mouthpiece which gives me a nice loud and bright tone. And with that I use a Legere American cut synthetic reed. With the tenor, I play mainly jazz and I wish I could get more jazz gigs! I use a metal Otto Link and.a Rico Royal 2.5 reed, which to be honest I have used for years. I don't get that nice smokey sound with the synthetic reeds on my tenor but I do want to experiment with other reeds at some stage, probably over Christmas when I get more time. If you are looking to change your mouthpiece or reeds, it is best to start with thinking about the style of music you want to play and the kind of sound you want to get. Bear in mind that how you blow into your mouthpiece (your embouchure) will make you sound different to me so your best bet is to spend a nice rainy afternoon in a specialist music shop that sells mouthpieces and reeds and try different ones. If you have a good assistant there, they will ask you want kind of sound you want and then give you two or three mouthpieces to try out in a practise room. Hope that answers your questions but please feel free to ask me anything else!
