Great video. Nothing like hand craftsmanship. Quality.

Thank you!
An interesting video, thanks!
Have you ever had your customer see you going at their mouthpiece with your channel locks in your shop , ha ha ha ? Your videos are great , and really helped me bring a couple of my pieces from the grave . But I know when to leave it to the pro ! Ha ha ha thanks again
There's another way to do this. Guys like Frank Wells would tap the mouthpiece with the facing facing down (yes, I meant that repetitive word, lol). I have a friend who witnessed this being done. Do it right and it works marvelously. Have to have a flat surface that is strong, like a professional flat block.

Sure, there are many ways to do this. It always depends on the situation and the outcome I am looking for. You can see a more recent video here:

Hi, Stephan! Very interesting video! I am also a refacer. It never occured to me to open a tip this way. I have a really interesting tenor metal mouthpiece which is way too small & I think I will try your method. I will let you know how it turns out. sincerely, John.
Congratulations. Amazing! So inspiring. Thank you for making these videos!

It does require nerves of steel haha!
Great video , your work is first class . I refaced my Florida that the table was not flat and had tip rail issues . I also wanted to increase the facing curve length . I used the reference numbers from Theo Wanne refacing book . But his book did not explain how to check the rollover with your file , to see what needed to be removed . The results are nothing less the amazing . I never like the piece , and I did not know why ? Ha ha thank you , keep up the great work !

Yeah, the baffle thing is often overlooked but will make all the difference on an otherwise perfect piece. I am glad it worked out for you!

You can bend ebonite with heat. Something you truly don't want to try at home ;-)
