Sawmill School - Coiling & Uncoiling Your Band Blades

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

So, one of the things you need to learn no matter what kind of sawmill you have, is how to coil and uncoil a band blade safely.
Sawmill School Lesson #5 is right here!
This is a very short lesson-but an important one if you want to keep all ten fingers intact.
Go ahead, give this one a look-only takes about 3 minutes.
There’s even a Jedi mind trick at the end!
May the force be with you.
We always value hearing from you. Please call us if you have any questions, OK?

Dave, was it the force or the forest? I’d rather have the forest be with me!😁

Actually, it was "farce", but make of it what you will. I had a lot of fun with that one, though it took an entire afternoon to figure out how to do it, then shoot & edit.

Dave, keep up the great work. I have enjoyed your videos a great deal. I plan in the near future to purchase a portable HD36. Wife and I are in Texas and will do some urban sawing in my “retirement”. That and cleaning up our small ranch and keeping bees. We are actually going to be in your neck of the woods next month attending a natural beekeeping class in Southwest Missouri. I have less time now retired than I did before, but it’s great to have goals. Keeps you active and alive.

@@ICN2U Is the beekeeping class with Dr. Leo Sharashkin? I'll have to check on that. I've built a couple of horizontal hives, but won't move the bees into them until next spring. For now they are happily nesting under the house siding just under the kitchen window. I'm 20 miles south of Joplin, about an hour and a half west of Springfield. Next issue of New Pioneer magazine will have an article of mine about building a long Langstroth hive out of shipping pallets. You're welcome to email me at dboyt.42@gmail.com.

Indeed I am! Really looking forward to it. Actually just finished earlier today doing a cutout of a hive in a loafing shed on a ranch 30 miles north of us close to Putnam. Will definitely keep your email. Know I will have questions galore once I have the mill. Pretty much all in. I’ve even thought about driving to Canada to pick it up and then bring it back and do the build. A vacation with an additional purpose.😃. Anyway, I will be watching your videos, will check out New Pioneer, and will look forward to more from the other guys at Norwood also. As Matthew Quigley would say...”that’s for sure and for certain.”

@@daveboyt6810 is it ok to store them uncoiled? I have a place on my shop wall where I put two fowls and just hang them in an oval shape.
