    Thanks for the love man, I greatly appreciate it. And as for production, it will always stay in Europe. From human rights all the way to the ability to order smaller batches with faster delivery times, the pros of European production greatly outweigh the cons. Plus, they are just plainly reasonable and lovely people up there at Savotta. Good luck on your journey my dude :)

    Hey man, awesome video and really enjoyed your „ramblings“. 😄 Got my Kahakka 25 for two days now and really enjoyed the format and perspective instead of just showing the features (Tim Keys is also what got me to buy this pack) but now after starting to use it it’s awesome to hear someone else’s use cases and perspective. Mine is mainly just for standard every day use as well and it really is versatile and modular. Was surprised how well it carried loaded up quite heavy on a bicycle ride today with the hip belt really securing it all. All the best from Germany!

    Hey there. Nice Clip. It's made of 1000d cordura and small pieces of 500d (upper part of sideflaps and the back) and not as you mentioned from 500d+300d.

    Thanks so much for watching and glad you enjoyed it! Really appreciate your correction regarding the CORDURA density. I'm going to pin your comment so others are more certain to see it. I've tremendously improved my attention to detail over the years but there are still fragments of my old personality remaining which routinely missed these obvious and important details... I'm working on it! I've used other packs made of 300D, 500D and never felt compromised. I would still purchase this pack if it were made of 300D, and now knowing that it isn't, wish that it was! Cheers

    Oh man I just stumbled on this video and I'm in agreement with all of your conclusions. I own the Jaakari S (3 years daily), and Kahakka 15 + 25. The Jaakari S is indeed a 'slinky' pack and not to be compared 1:1 imo. It sits in between the 15 and 25l size-wise and functions very differently. Also came to the same conclusion as you with the M and L. Swapped those out for [now] Kahakka daypack & summer/minimal overnight, and a 50l Fjallraven Keb for winter and mountain trips. The Kahakka is ridiculously versatile and moddable yet quite civilian friendly :D A lot of packs have so many features they can only do one thing. Thus far I've made two quick-change mods to run the Kahakka with a padded molle belt or an external frame. In this sense, it completely transforms into two new harness-based packs for heavier gear or comfort on longer treks. Bless Savotta, less is more! Comfy vid mate, subbed!

    Thanks so much for your support and kind words. I’m still new to all this and it’s really motivating to receive your positive feedback. Have heard lots of good things about the Keb 50L. Wow, rigging up the Kahakka with a padded belt/external frame is an awesome idea and absolutely takes it to a whole new level. Just when I thought it couldn’t be any more versatile… Top stuff man. Thanks again. Cheers

    I will take the 1000d everytime. a lot of bags with 500d are the same price... Savotta makes to endure, thats why i trust them. I used tasmanian tiger and warrior assault systems. Both are great brands and have great stuff but Savotta is a level up ;) i have the 15L. So happy with it.

    1000D is overkill even for military tbh. 500D is absolutely chonky. Ive had the jaakari S and L and I agree with your conclusions. The Kahakka fixed everything wrong with the Jaakari S imo. I'm hoping to turn it into a concise overnight pack with the askare as a hip pack.

  • @DeepTheta

    @DeepTheta

    Bang on, that's it! Truthfully I've been using the askare as as purse around town and it's the right size for my books and bobs. Haven't paired it with the Kahakka yet but there's no doubt they will harmonize. Cheers

    1000D is for sure overkill in many places, not for what this pack was designed for. The Kahakkas are made to stand up to some pretty horrible use at times, carrying ammunition boxes and other terrible stuff and getting thrown/dragged across rocks and gravel is something that 1000D stands up to way better than 500D. Same goes for the side pouches and stuff like E-tools etc. 500D could for sure handle this sort of stuff for some time, but 1000D will handle it better and longer. On the other hand stuff like the Hatka 12L and our new hip packs are 500D, because those shouldn't be subjected to such horrors on a daily basis. We always put some thought into material selection, and sometimes hard times just call for that extra durability of 1000D.
