Hi I went to Varusteleka today, the tabs on the PC18 and Askare are very close to same width.

You could attach those male buckles to one of those molle boards that go behind the font car seats and female ends to pouches. That way you can unclip them when you need to pull those pouches off.

A piece of leather with some slots cut in it for straps in back would be nice too.

Thanks Tim. This channel and the sub Reddit are a prolific breeding ground for this kind of shenanigans. My wallet hates both. The Kukkaro doesn't have the necessary webbing points, right?

Haha yeah I imagine I'm not helping anyone's addiction. And for the Kukkaro you are correct, no top webbing loops. I am going to play with it tonight when the kids go to bed, but for now the best I have seen is carabiners to backpack straps

I there's a youtuber in France that figured out how to turn the Kukkaro into a chest rig. Look up: "Savotta Kukkaro et Askare, de hip packs bien foutu" and click on the first video. At some point in the video, he even explains how he did it.

I can't thank you enough for this, I had this in mind but could not put it together, I can imagine a H harness is much more comfortable. I kinda have in mind seeing it now in sort of belt rig with straps kinda like Helikon did with their Foxtrot MK2, maybe some kind of what the brits have in the kit or old school US ALICE rig

Words like yours are why I'm still doing this man, thank you. And maybe soon I will try an H style back section, I just need to order in a few more meters of webbing from Varusteleka

Great video Tim! Have you considered using the Särmä TST X-Harness for the straps?

It's entirely doable and probably 100% more comfortable as it will bounce and move with your body, but hey you can't beat a few buckles and cannibalized webbing. And using that 40mm triglide from the Askare itself

Nicely done! Great demonstration as always. I had been taking a hard look at chest rigs before the ASKARE. I think it would be a great alternative... cough cough superior, to most of the other rigs out there. It would be a great way to incorporate ASKARE on a longer ruck with a larger pack.

Have you tried out the elastic organizers? Absolutely lovely. Keeps some kit upright if you're going for a chest rig. I think my next video will be something like "100 Days of Askare" or something like it. I hit 100 days right about now-ish and those elastic organizers are amazing, so I want to show off how I put it together

@@TimothyKeys That sounds great! I haven’t tried them yet. On the list lol Currently keeping a hook back zip mesh pouch on the inside of mine. Looking forward to the 100 days!

Crazy idea, what if we do a 2-part video series as a team? You do 100 days as an outside hip bag and I do 100 days as an every day shoulder bag...

@@TimothyKeys Yeah! That sounds awesome. I will try and work on something this weekend. I think I am going to be a little busy the next couple days with work and family, but will try and get something together.
