Xerxes should have just autoresolved the Battle of Thermopylae, he wouldn't have lost any units and he would have completely wiped out the Greeks.

I am doing my best not to disapoint yiu legend! I am still alive ut cant expand. Datia is not represented well by Ca. They were definately full of unit variations at that time And weere not found of spears actually. The getae were not so isolated as well and had allies amongst the greek subcultures.

I know its a tough campaign man. Every time you expand you meet someone new who wants to kill you. You're close to getting noble swords. try go for that as soon as possible. You'll melt those athenians with a full stack of noble swords.
I sometimes find that you have to pay attention to how certain groups like each other. I've had the AI drastically change their opinion of me positively or negatively because of releasing, enslaving or executing those I am at war with. It is annoying that you are incentivized to do one of these options for money, but at times it is not worth it if it means your neighbors will cancel their trade agreements and non aggression pacts.
Love the series man. Keep them coming.
I honestly enjoy faster pased auto-resolve campaigns.

Boring battles which make the game longer or boring auto-resolve which still keeps the game fast. Bad game design by CA is to blame.
Is it just me or do other people like when Legend does his sarcastic geeky voice?
Very good content mate!!! I absolutely love it i have a couple campaigns that are at the border line of getting demolished. Keep up the good work!!!
My favorite type of TW video
This really shows why you need to secure a full province and work from there. Avoids a border-gore situation and get more taxes. Otherwise you just run back & forth in an endless cycle

@Soldat hey that's a pretty good joke, here's a better one: The fact that you're an unemployed incel with a tiny penis.
Very nicely played there, it was a real clusterfuck to fix!
Great series.
Not gonna lie, Baktria randomly declaring war on you despite being half the map away was hilarious.,
Manual resolve would have fixed this faster. There's plenty of cheap upkeep units that work decently in manually fought battles. Sure elite units are too expensive to spam, but mid tiers are only marginally more expensive in terms of upkeep. For example, an army of falxmen and heavy spears only cost 20 more upkeep for unit, but would have been able to completely slaughter any ai army with a good hammer and anvil.

Nice 👌🏻
The campaign would have been won after episode 1 if you had invested in merchants
Nice 3 parter
Sorry man, who am I to judge your decisions, but I don't understand why you left treacherous Athens behind your back, and wasted so much money for 3 turns-long peace treaties, when you could just smash Athens and Sparta alltogether, secure the whole Greece, and build it up nicely, and give this guy 4 full stacks to protect it, that's all. You wouldn't need the third episode. Instead, you stretched your empire so thin, and dragged yourself into more and more wars. In the end you have only one fully secured province, and lots of enemies. Anyway it was really interesting to watch this, and of course you definitely saved this campaign. Good luck. Waiting for some WH stuff😊

The main reason I didn't want to take down Athens was because I didn't want him to border the Suebi, who are even worse as an enemy. At least Athens can takes bribes. Suebi just want to watch the world burn.

@@LegendofTotalWar Don't know man, I'm not so good at Rome 2, but I think if you have 4 full stacks together, you can protect yourself from anybody, even if they join their forces against you. And you could liberate couple of factions on your borders as a buffer zone.

@@masasikisimoto26 I think Jeff did the right choice there. His armies were exhausted after dealing with Sparta(half dead), he would not have had the time to replenish and at the same time defend the only secure province he has from the east enemies let alone from the swebians. Having 4 stacks require money and he did not have enough secure provinces for them, the newly captured Sparta/Athens provinces would keep his armies there to capture/ maintain and secure them for 5 turns, he did not have that time, he needed to hit the east before they swarm him. At that point they were split up taking out birtha. It was a good opportunity to take good territory and create a better buffer to take down Athens/Sparta later. Securing nicomedia is crucial in that regard. What Jeff could have done better is buff up Nicomedia with a lot of buildings that provide garrison, so he dose not need to leave a full stack army there to defend the line, while dealing with the west and do what you suggested, thus he has a better defensive position in the east while dealing with the west(Greece).
Clearing out Athens and Sparta at first could have made the campaign easy?
Without merchants Rome2 is so boring.

I think you'd have a lot more fun doing battles. There are youtubers who play on legendary and win vastly outnumbered, and progress fine.
