SAVING the Western Roman Empire by the POWER OF CHRIST
Ойындар
The Western Roman Empire campaign from Rome: Total War: Barbarian Invasion - perhaps the best campaign Total War ever produced, if not superseded only by its namesake in Total War: Attila. And yes - I AM indeed playing on very hard/very hard in Total War: Rome Remastered. In our last narrative campaign, we took on the role of the Ottoman Empire, but now, we journey by way of another dying empire - The Western Roman Empire, a decadent, yet powerful entity - if you can wield it. In this campaign, Emperor Valentinianus attempts to reunite a crumbling empire, secure the borders, and do it all while remaining Christian and bringing Christendom to the Roman heartlands.
I hope you enjoy these new style of narrative campaigns, but no matter your thoughts and feelings about it, leave a comment down below to let me know what you liked, disliked, or want to see more of! Wanna see a particular campaign done this way? Let me know! :) And please remember to like the video and subscribe to the channel, it truly goes a long way in helping my videos and the channel grow 😊

Funny thing about Valentinian, he actually CHOSE to rule the west. He was the last emperor to choose the west over the east.

This is probably the best Total War campaign narration I've seen on KZread. It's in past tense, as if it comes from a history scroll. And I love how he gives the characters a story. The script probably takes a long time to write, cut and edit into video. We should all appreciate this hard work. Earned my subscribe twice. Please! More of this!

You running with swaggers blood mod? Could swear I recognize those small blood effects lol. Love the video I definitely need to play the WRE again now. Hopefully by watching one of the greats I can learn enough to not die or lose heart by turn 5. I have already identified several things you did that could help me preserve the glory of rome in my own game. Last thing i will say is I love these campaign story videos, I feel they inspire me to try the campaigns for myself and it sounds/feels like watching an ancient epic every time I watch these kinda videos. Gonna stop spamming ya now, might share this video around and maybe get you one or two more views

Other than that it’s all vanilla :) good luck on your WRE campaign, I had you in mind after you left that comment on the other video that you were having a hard time :D pro tip - if you kinda wanna cheese the game and make just a little easier for you - change your capital to Massilia, it will significantly improve public order in Gaul and Iberia. And technically, capital changing IS an old Roman pastime! Good luck! :D

@@AndysTake Just tried a pagan run as the WRE on hard after you inspired to try a new way to play the game. It's so much harder than converting everyone to Christianity. Public order penalties are worse because each settlement that is majority pagan suffers a -10% debuff because the emperor you start off with (Valentinian I hope I got that right 😂) is Christian. Turn 5 I had the Eastern Romans betray our alliance and take two of my cities in Illyria. It gets really crazy. Goes to show how much effort was put into the expansion by CA at the time.

This was pretty damn cool! I really love these playthroughs 😊 It is a very creative way to share a campaign, and it seems like I had given you a way to stretch your creative writing legs (fingers? I dunno lol) as well 😉 Thanks Andy ❤ I'd love to see something like this with Distant Worlds 2, which also looked really cool and has plenty of room for interesting happenings which always make for interesting story telling events. Plus it would be interesting to see what you could do with sci fi 😮 Take care, and can't wait to see what is next 💪
I adored this video, do more stories like this and I will stay subscribed. Doesn't matter what total war or which mod is it. A story of your own making keeps me interested. The western Roman Empire in Rome Total War Barbarian Invasion is hands down the hardest campaing in all of Total War history You need to make all decisions correct, the most minimun error will have a province rebel (bad choice of building) or another empire or tribe taking advantage of your error (Hec even your goddamn ally can betray you and he haves far more better resources than you) Your economy is BAD, just plain bad, And you will need to give provinces just because you cant afford them (Including maybe the Brito-Romans) Its HARD, really, Not even attila campaing came that close to it
Ave Roma, Invicta!
