Saving An Innocent Man from Death Row | Real Stories True Crime Documentary

Фильм және анимация

In 2014, filmmaker Jessica Villerius met death row inmate, Clinton Young, who had been convicted of a double homicide and became convinced of his innocence. Her documentary ‘Innocent on Death Row’ exposed the weakness of the whole case, proving the shootings could not possibly have taken place the way the prosecutor alleged. These and other new facts, including serious misconduct by the prosecution, led to Young’s execution being halted just 8 days before it was due to take place. He is granted a new trial and freed on given bail to await his new trial.
Clinton was 19 when he was imprisoned. He is now 38. After almost 20 years of solitary confinement, how do you adapt to life outside? In addition, the strict conditions of his bail prevent him from living in the same state as his family and even going to the supermarket across the road from his house. He’s terrified of making the slightest mistake and being sent back to prison. He’s free but not free.
Watch the part 1 here: • Clinton Young: The Wro...

I'm sure that between wanting to appear "hard" in case he does go back, and being locked into a young mindset, it's difficult to express. His childlike smile says more than words... I know there is a retrial but i don't know when. He's out on a ankle monitor so he's waiting on a new trial. I am surprised they didn't offer him a plea. Will see

I suffer from Anxiety...caused by tours to both Bosnia and Balad, Iraq...aka Morteritaville...his suffering surely is larger than mine...I don't know if he suffers from anxiety, but I wouldn't want to be in his shoes...because I wouldn't make it ...he is a far stronger person than me...

Personal opinion: that he was in youth prison his demeanor is harder it doesn't fit his treats to have killed them both. Being as he was so young in the correction system he was likely taught the ropes in a professional street manner. He has the time under his belt in general population to have picked up as nessicary the more skilled and harder offenders: servial of the fittest; as for primal instinct when you pick off the dominant you have less chance of survival. Those types of killing are rookie/ hard up in life types.. possiblly narsasitic trates. a legitimate profile to have done so. (You maybe able to ask for a profile on both the co-defendants) I do believe his co-defendant murdered the second man after the 1st.. possibly trying to empress or build his reputation/ become stronger. He didn't account/ know the side effects and without a mentor he wasn't able to control himself and dug himself deeper and got himself caught. Being said with Clinton having g already served time it was "believable" for him to have done it. The DA putting an already known convect on death row implies alot for the service.. gapping whole to allow the death penalty to be implemented. And with every one else grouped together with the story it was a garented conviction. As I see it there is no plausible reason to have killed the man for his car for Clinton. Not his type of criminal. Poor guy just wanted to smoke a blunt.

We have the same thing in Australia, only here it’s called ‘Common Purpose’ it doesn’t matter if you’re the shooter or the getaway driver who never even got out of the car, you are charged the same.

Good story. Let's not forget even though he got railroaded by a corrupt system, he was far from innocent. He helped put the body in the trunk and proceeded to travel with the guy which resulted in another killing.

So I looked em up n it says he was arrested by a different county n is sitting with a 5 million dollar bail. It talked about him being released n he started working in Mississippi at an approved job n that’s when he was arrested for a different murder around the same time the murder he was in this county for happened. Maybe I read it wrong. That’d be messed up if I read it correctly.

Im so glad he is out of prison but having an ankel monitor is probably just as bad as being in prison. You have freedom but then you dont. Either way its like hes still in prison. Im just seeing Clintons case and he seems like such a great person, very respectful and eager to stay free.
