If you have love for the animals..you learn and get better..just like other categories/postions in this ole life. Hard to prepare for emergencies.. But as Mom and Dad know..in time you get better, calmer in the hard times. Thanks for your good efforts sweetheart 😘

Anyone familiar with farming and keeping animals knows that it isn’t a bed of roses! That was a dangerous situation and you did the best you could do! Saving an animal is something that you have to do! Wishing you the very best!

What a stressful situation. Poor Carley. She was a scapegoat in the scenario, though no one meant for her to be. She was a trooper to go through that.

As a 5th generation is a Angus farmer, i can say without doubt, that is about the most dangerous thing we have to do on the farm. Otherwise docile momma cows dont play around when it comes to their babies. BUT that just shows how good of a momma she is. If you have a momma that doesnt care she needs to go to the sell. GOOD JOB GUYS!

For a calf as sick as it was it put up a hell of a fight and mama even more there is nothing like a mama loving instinct. We had an Angus who came right through the side of the barn, through a window taking out the bottom of the wall because her calf in the barn was bellowing. Great teamwork well done. Even just feeding orphans can send you flying drinking their supplements well tgat was 3 Angus babies at a time ... i became a UFO a couple of times.

That's where you need to have on wranglers ,boots and a handkerchief you can pull up over your face real quickly. Lol The most exciting calf pickup I've ever seen on KZread. Real life on the farm is full of running, chasing, shutting doors,gates,cussing each other during stressful & dangerous times,but forgiving quickly. That bull calf might have flies badly drawn to him because of the snow white color ,he is a easy target. I was thinking Fionna might just come in the house if a door was open when Flint got the supplies. Karlie has been away from your little ranch too long. She got use to big college life lol I don't blame her a bit for not loving that ruckus! 🤣😂 I wonder if Fiona was grateful once she realize you cleaned him up so good and gave him right back to her😱no momma wants clean that raunchy butt up. Lol Y'all need a portable trailer you pull up to grab calves and do that treatment in the trailer and release. Might be safer, but a little more trouble. ? That wouldn't work on the messy butt though, just shots ,vitamins , flu spray etc. just a thought. 😂 But we would miss the laughs and excitement, great adventures make great memories. I'm going to rewatch this one and share on Facebook for my cowboy buddies. Happy everything turned out. Only one small injured finger is pretty good. Calf should be feeling better soon.

Brave of you to show the ‘warts & all’ side of cattle ranching on here,kudos! It’s tough & dangerous,tempers get short,instructions can seem harsh but seconds of time (& timing) can mean the difference between injuries or not. Helpful (or not) tip,a bucket of warm-hot soapy water & a car sponge will take 2 more minutes to get ready (but once your calf is separated anyway,there is more time) but it will help break up & remove the poop faster & easier than a cold hose & can even be a little less stressful for the calf too. Good job guys,you did great even with hitches like the garage door making it tougher. 👍🤗

Carly, you took the brunt of a stressful situation, it happens. But I will tell you as a parent, your parents would step in front of train to save your life. You won't understand until you have a child.

I watched this last night, but had to rewatch it again this morning. This would be my husband, my daughter and myself with our son roflhao! What a great video, keeping it real for folks thinking about getting into raising cattle! You could have removed the parts during the oober stressful situation where you showed yourselves in the realest way. So many KZreadrs only put out videos portraying themselves in the most perfect way. Cudos to you for keeping it real and showing us that it’s ok if as a family it’s not always peaches and cream. Also thanks for showing us, that the true meaning of family love is forgiveness & coming right back to working together and loving each other more than anything else in the world. Yes that was intense!! But once again you saved a baby...you are amazing ,sorry that you had to go through that..but the experience and video will give you a memory to look back on ,and know you did the right thing..even if swear words was expressed ,and emotions got high ,it was scary watching cant imagine how it was in real time....but carley its not ok to tell your dad or mom to f..off..no matter if you didnt want to participate in this situation ,it is your life,as your parents love ,but they love you more ,they appreciate you...

Note to self , find a better cattle guard or new gate/ barrier and make sure remote for garage door is easily accessible! 😅That situation was intense and very stressful 😱 . You all handled it as well as you could’ve , I wound’ve freaked out, screamed and cried and probably would end up on the end of Fiona’s horn ! Thanks for showing the truth, warts and all ! That poor Carly getting yelled at when she had a boo-boo. Better get her some pie or cake or something nice. It appears you need to think about a secondary gate at the cattle guard since it doesn't guard at all - it's a cattle slouch! Maybe think about setting up a section out in the field that is already fenced off with a primary entry and fast exit points for situations such as this when it comes to working on calfs. That way you aren't risking your lives as much since you can enter it quickly, close it off from the herd and then do your business, or call in a vet if need-be. Have water there, a hose, a place for brushes, scissors, other tools of the trade, and a loafing shed to stay out of the elements. Can have a tote for water instead of running lines if there aren't any already. Pack a tool box(s) with all the required supplies so it can either stay there or is quickly grabbed and transportable, plus some blankets and other things, like having a halter set up that can be tied down and a rear-leg tie-down station as well. Ya'll are getting a large herd with lots of calfing going on, so might be worth doing. Anyhow ... glad it all worekd out well this time.
