Hey there buddy how are ya? I use that same Centrifuge the 55 gallon one. This how I do black diesel. I pour the oil into a 25 micron sock filter watching for any crud. If I see any crud I stop and put it to the side for turn in. I usually don’t pour off the last inch or so of the gallon jug the oil is in. I turn it in for recycling. Once the usable oil goes through the 25 micron then it goes in to a 1 micron sock filter. From there it goes into my 55 gallon drum system. The drum is very well insulated I have a large stainless steel mixing bowl on a pipe in the center of the top of the drum. On this mixing bowl I have my centrifuge mounted with angle steel and bolted in place. I have a pick up tube in the large bung hole. This tube goes to a Toyota power steering pump powered by a 1/2 horse power motor the pump spins 1/2 motor speed. The output goes to a 2000 watt water heater element that’s in a pipe set so it flows in and out of the heater. From there goes to the centrifuge . I run the system for about 1.5 hours getting the oil up to 212f at this point any water in the oil boils out and the steam comes out the pipe and bowl on top. When at full temp I start the centrifuge spinning no more than 80 psi. I let spin for 10 to 12 hours. Turn system off let settle for several days to a week. Then mix 10% rug as I fill the tank. The centrifuge usually has a hard crust of solids on the inside of the rotor. The oil comes out about 10 weight or so and is very slickery. I think if I mixed 10% rug and let settle would be even cleaner. Been doing this since 2013 when I bought my m35a2. Egt wasn’t as high as when running #2 boost was about the same. Didn’t blow smoke ran nice and cool no over heating issues. Was a great way to drive my duece around for cheap and piss off liberals in the Sf Bay Area.

Do you have plans so someone can duplicate this system? I'd happily pay a reasonable fee for it
After I ran a batch of oil through my centrtfuge, I let it sit in the container for two years....yes two year -s, I then checked the bottom of the container {white plastic} and it was totally clean, no worries only one pass through centerfuge after heating oil to 200f on my wood stove at 20l in 1.5 hrs, no traceable contaminants at all.

That’s badass! Thanks for that great feedback.
old diesel engines were constructed to work on such fuels and oil made of plants. I know that people use filtered used oil from engines, into old diesel cars or vans or trucks or tractors as fuel, and they havent had issues.

Nice. How I do it: All of the used oils and hydraulic fluids I collect at home I catch as clean as possible in a catch can I keep sealed in double trash bags. When full, I pour the 15 qts into 5-qt oil jugs I save from new oil/fluid changes. I let the jugs sit for at least 90 days and then slowly pour off the top 4 quarts. The last quart has the settled solids or contamination in it. I mix 3 gal of the clean used oil with gasoline nearly 1:1 in 5 gallon fuel cans and shake for 1 minute, and put two 5-gallons cans into a 3/4 full tank of diesel. My 2005 Ram diesel has a 40 gallon tank. This makes a mix of about 15% used oils. It seems to run fine Winter and Summer. I do change my fuel filter a little sooner than typical, about every 10,000 miles, rather than 15,000. The dirty oil left in each jug i combine again and let settle another 90 days and repeat. The 2nd time I pour off the top and use the remainder as chain-lube and make two-cycle fuel for my chainsaw, and some start my wood boiler at night. It's a cheap and easy way to get rid of collected fluids, have a little free fuel, and not waste anything either. Peace...
Oh I had spin on fuel filters and changed them every 4 fill ups. Winter I ran 50/50 with #2. Would also flush system on 5th fill up with straight #2
I dump in a quart of atf in my tank and fill up. Never had an issue and runs great after 300K
I found your channel while trying to research about black diesel. Love the content
Appreciate you doing these videos, I’m trying to get setup now to hopefully start running some in the spring. So far best advice I can give anyone is research, research, research and do some more research. I’ve learned what works for one guy doesn’t always work for the next and dual tanks are highly suggested.

Agree with settling for some months, then pump out about 95%, dilute a little with fuel, for simple gravity filtering through regular oil filter, then big diesel fuel filter.

Back in the 80's I would take my used oil and dump it right in with the fuel. It's oil and it goes through a filter. No biggie for those days.
Good thing to get is to filter it below 5 microns i filter down to .5 microns
Huh, interesting concept. Thanks for the info 👍
been waiting for this video looking forward to the mini centrifuge
Thank you bro
If u want clean oil, find some virgin cotton like cotton balls or shredded denim to make the oil pass thru. That’s the best. For water, try some gelatin powder in the oil. Mix it in completely and add a little water, the settle the mix. It might remove some carbon and water and other crap. It will scavenge the water and solidify at the bottom. Also , try tytrating the used motor oil like they do to make bio diesel to get more crap out.

I have learned so much fro your videos and I appreciate it. Do you have a video on how to place rings in correct position on a 12 valve piston? I can’t find one , thanks
@preachers4135
Жыл бұрын
3 rings per piston and installation is typical of any engine. Always double check the ring manufacture directions. Always: oil wiper goes on the bottom (spring on the inside & open end opposite the wiper end gap) Most of the time: intermediate compression ring is square (check for dots to indicate top side of ring) Most of the time: top compression ring has a staggered edge (the staggered side is the top side of the ring) Always: stagger the end gaps so that none of them line up (some have preference of where they are in relation to wrist pin center line)

Could centrifuge machine spin filter work
Also I mix in my gas and or diesel fuel prior to running through the centerfuge, the dirt separates faster and easier, heating the oil will evaporate any water in the oils.

So i had fuel rites water separator on my finish drum where it goes through before the vehicle. It didn't keep the water out. Now this being said. This happened cause I did not clean the centrifuge so the fuge its self couldn't get the gunk and water out properly sooo there was more water than normal. Would love to see a filter that ACTUALLY can stop water from going through

I have a 85 6.9 IDI. I know a shop that has oil practically all day long and it's all fully synthetic ATF motor oil. Do I need to mix more gasoline or diesel for it to burn easier? I do have a two tank system and I drive to work 10 miles one way or 10 miles the other. Is it worth it? And do I have to do any adjustment to the 6.9 mechanical pump??
@CUTTERUPROB
Жыл бұрын
I just add more gasoline to it.
@ScottyCrawford
Жыл бұрын
That was a particularly intelligent question because the ignition point of synthetic oil is so much higher. That higher ignition point is the reason for the much, much lower carbon contamination and resistance to heat damage that you get from synthetic oil. I'd love to see comments and replies here from people who have actually USED synthetic waste oil in this manner.

I've been doing lots of research into this and i've been trying to find if it would be ok to mix waste motor oil ect. with vegetable oil or if i would need to keep them separate.
@CUTTERUPROB
Жыл бұрын
Keep the separate myself. I small amounts won’t make any difference. The biggie oil does a better job cleaning. So what I do when I have both is run a couple tanks of oil then a tank or two of veggie mix. I have been told if you mix them let’s say 50/50 it can make a gelly mix. But I have tested tested it and it didn’t
@ScottyCrawford

Most importantly, you may need to preheat straight vegetable oil to keep it from solidifying. It's not really hard or expensive if you already have mechanical aptitude and the internet. A simple net search using the words STRAIGHT VEGETABLE OIL SVO preheat will give you the help you need.
