Excellent review! We bought a 22 Highline for running estimates on Vancouver Island. In Eco mode we averaged 4.9L/100km after about a couple of months. Then we experienced even lower fuel economy. Our lowest was 4.1 L/100km over a 90km trip! The grade was very flat and we had two adults in the Jetta. Simply outstanding!

I’m a VW guy and it was a great day with the car. I especially liked the interior:) it definitely is a nice looking car.

That’s what I would get! The fact they offer a manual sedan is awesome and I love it. Congrats and hope you enjoy it

only a couple items on my problem list on these cars is A. the direct injection only engines, the build up over time on the valves, but also if the highlines are all like that.. no physical buttons on the infotainment.. then again I drive a Scat Pack Challenger all year round so lol.

I guess in Canada the hockey stick fit is more important than knowing if this car comes with a spare tire

According to the dealer, the Comfortline and Highline come with a “space and weight saving” 18” spare, but the Trendline (base) does not.

i used my emergency tire at least 2 times on my 2016 car but never use some of this other junk they put on cars now.

No problem! Thank you:) Good question. I’ve never driven the City. Don’t believe we have them in Canada. Generally I really like Honda. I’m a VW owner (Golf) and like it because of how well built and luxurious they feel for the money but Honda is known for efficiency and economy. That said the Jetta is good on gas for the size of car. Wish I could be more help!

@@abhijitwalunjkar6539 I have a request at the Honda dealer for a new Civic so hopefully they can get me one to review. Unfortunately, all the dealers here only loan my demos/testers which is usually a top end SUV. I’m ironically struggling to get content even though we got monetized and avg 10-15k per new car review. I will definitely do a Civic if I can get one. Everything I read and hear about it is extremely positive! Thanks again

It saddens me that people don’t realize what they are missing when they drive an automatic in a car that!

I bought a 23 Comfortline Sprot manual because I wanted a manual, and it is lacking a lot of features that Highline has. Like blindspot detection, parking sensors, navigation. I can live without those features however the biggest disappointment is that there is no USB ports in the back and no vents at the back of the centre console (there are vents under the seat. When I test drove the 22 (they didn't have the 23 on the lot) I failed to notice that. I guess that is on me. Having seen the chinese version of the Jetta (Sagitar) it comes with that plus folding mirrors and a 10 inch stereo. I guess in a few year once these parts become available on the parts markets in China I will try and retrofit those features.

Really hoping the blindspot and lane assist can be retrofitted post purchase on that particular trim, as the removal was just due to chip shortage deletion

Not sure what this means lol… Do you not like Canadian car reviews?? Either way, if you live in Canada that’s because of new content laws. In all honesty, if you are complaining, and you are Canadian, you can instead support us and help make the content better. Canadian reviewers don’t have the same access to vehicles or financial backing. I’m by myself and spend my own time and money. I have a normal job and am learning. It’s not as easy as you think. We didn’t ask for this law or are trying to irritate Canadian viewers looking for their favourite American or European review shows. YT warned the government that this would ultimately hurt us because frustrated viewers will take it out on us by giving negative comments, not watching all the way through or not liking. So if you are Canadian, support your reviewers in any way you can and help put us on the Map! Let’s make our smaller reviewers something we can all be proud of supporting!! Thanks for watching and commenting😊

jetta has a timing belt instead of a timing chain no excuse for this fact. too risky with a timing belt when it snaps and it will snap some point and you have major engine damage. no excuse for any car company using timing belts anymore as their cost savings do not outweigh the costly risks of engine damage.

I’m waiting for heart surgery and have low energy so I find I’m dragging myself around most of the time. Torsion is more durable and cheaper to fix. They’ve improved a lot. No one knows turbos like vw. Obviously.
