My 2005 toyota tacoma prerunner whent from 290 to 310 miles a tank with um blue bottle. Sorry I know we shouldn't mention the blue bottle 🤣. Then pensoil got me to 330 to 350 miles a tank. I haven't used nanotechnology yet if I get richer ill give it a try next oil change.

@@thesilentone4024 The problem with this test that I see, is Millers is an SL oil and Pennzoil is a SN oil, and we are now at SP. Also, high Calcium causes low speed preignition in Turbo engines, so I would have to see Miller oil with an SP rating, results. The cold flow of Millers was a big FAIL, 90% of wear happens at start up, so I will be staying with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum as I have not seen an oil that beats it, for the price..

For starters, just 10% of this man's sincerity can make this world a promising habitat for humanity, period.

I've seen some oils filter videos on youtube but I'm never sold on the testing or which is best. I would love to see your testing on a group of oil filters. Love your videos. I would like to see the bearing wear tests done at low temperatures though, since most engine wear takes place when the engine and oil are cold. Maybe in the next one?

Very thorough testing and I'm always umpressed how he keeps the fields level during testing. Way long ago, I took a course from a guy who operated under the moniker "Dr. Corrosion:" and he swore by the lubricating properties of MoS2, and thus I used to always add it to my oil in automobile gearboxes and rear ends. I don't know if it actually improved performance but i never had any wear issues.

Even when at the store trying to decide, il just watch one of these videos, because, I'm going to be standing there for 10-15 minutes anyway.

I'd love to see a tour video of your lab. And in the process I imagine many especially younger viewers would like to hear a bit about your self taught versus 'education' background that got you there.

I love how you talk about elements like they are detergents and anti-wear agents. I am quite into chemistry and to hear your view on these things is fascinating, refreshing and generally a joy! If you made a video explaining all the elements of oil, like what does 5w40, mean, what is the base number? Why are boron, moly, calcium in there and what they do, etc.. I would thoroughly enjoy that! You are becoming somewhat of an authority on things and have an amazing fan base of which I am a proud member. Keep up the good work Todd

You have consistently given me such customer confidence since I began to watch your videos. I'm nowhere near a rich man so I like to make every penny count (thankfully I'm much better off than I was when I first found your channel) and that doesn't give me a lot of budget for testing products myself... On top of that, I'm a father of an almost-2 year old so I am and plan to be short on the levels of time and energy that you so graciously put in your videos. I came here because I love data and tests, but I stay because I think your tests are creative and I find you honest and entertaining. You have made it so easy to pick stuff like oil and car batteries for me and I get very excited to see what every video may be about, whether it is applicable to something I was in the market for or not. You could have just been some random guy on KZread torturing some poor old lawnmower by running it on bacon grease or Vaseline, but you not only put a lot of work in to satisfy your own curiosity, you've done your best to share it with anyone who cared to listen. Your effort does not go unnoticed and I'm so happy to see you doing so successfully. I get excited when I see a new gadget for testing. Keep it up!

Could you test break in oils and additives for engine builders? Comp Cams, Lucas, Royal Purple, GM Eos, etc. Most brands have a break in oil and as well as just a zinc additive and I'm wondering how the different brands compare to each other and how regular oil + additive compares to the dedicated break in oil. Love your work!

@@ProjectFarm Hey man I haven't seen this one posted so I thought I'd hijack a top comment :-) I'm due for a fixed service appointment soon with VW and all the reports on the Internet suggest that they put 0w-20 oil in my engine from the factory (VW 508.00) but all my local dealers go with 5w-30 and the VW 507 standard. My owners manual suggest about 1% reduction in fuel efficiency and bit more pollution from the engine. But are these claims correct? I couldn't find an oil test lab like yours nearby. I would love it if you could test this out. All the best and stay safe!

Funny thing is I've read the entire manual and the only mention of SAE standards within are in regards with what to do in case of an emergency, such as if the oil level warning light is set on. I have since my original message contacted all 3 big dealers/services in my city and all 3 have given me differing standards for my car (502, 504, 507), and so does the Internet (508). It's just absurd the entire situation.

I've been running Pennzoil ultra platinum in my new car and my old jeep 4.0 (these examples are worlds apart) since you validated that it'll flow at -40. Both vehicles have never run better or quieter 1 year later. As always, great content.

Interesting, ai also have a 4.0 I-6 "Tractor Engine" Jeep. Are you using 10W-30 Pennzoil? Did you add anything else like STP?

Been adding Rislone ZDDP, even just half the bottle per oil change to keep the zinc up. 250k miles, purrs like a kitten. I've been binge watching all your videos and you've done an excellent job. You asked for other products to test. I have an idea although it might be kinda expensive. I've always wondered the difference in all terrain tire patterns, if they make a difference or what condition what tires perform best dry, wet, sand, snow and muddy conditions. I understand this would be a very labor, cost and time intensive comparison.

Pennzoil is my go to as well but really you can't go wrong with any modern full synthetic. Tiny differences in add pack and base oils, it's probably best to just buy whatever current API is on sale, but I find something I like and stick to it because it feels good.

Very unlikely for it to be that expensive. Most household freezers use about 4$ a month in electricity depending on your area. Refrigeration is incredibly efficient, so it’s likely the upfront cost of a lab grade freezer that’s more expensive.

Shouldn't be that much as most freezers have their thermostat set to -18°C / -0.4°F by default.

The Pennzoil is API SN. The Millers is API SL (older out of date spec).

@@ihelp131 The physical/chemical differences between "SN" and "SP" oils would be observable by consulting the data sheets for both oils. I recently bought some of the newer "SP" oil -- AMAZON BASICS - 5-W-30 API Service "SP" -- ILSAC GF-6 -- Running the "SP" oil in the famous 95 MERC, which now has 179,000 miles on the clock. 16 City, 24 Hiway.

I own an older classic car and so do some of my friends that require a high anti friction additive in the oil. We all use different oils that claim to have some anti friction additive as there main goal.. I would greatly appreciate if these oils could be tested to truly see what oil performs better in all the categories you test in. This would also educate classic car enthusiasts that use oil with high friction additives. Slightly related, but after reaching out to Pennzoil about an odd piece of particulate I found on my dipstick, they sent me out two free jugs of their ultra platinum to comp me for my troubles. Great customer service and they earned a customer for life thanks to it.
