Savage Mark II .22 - BUDGET Scope Build

Фильм және анимация

This is a Savage Mark II .22 caliber bolt action rifle. This is not a very expensive rifle so I did not want to break the bank in putting a scope on it. Overall, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. You don’t need very expensive accessories to build a gun that will do the job.

    Nothing wrong with that set up. All of your purchases are fitting for your use. I have a set up like that on a Marlin Glenfield 25 that is now 50 years old and still shoots fine. Many critters have fell victim to it.👍🇺🇸

    I got my dad's old Marlin Model 60 from the 70s but decided to just retire it and set it aside for sentimental value. I wanted a .22 rifle to have fun with and, if necessary, deal with moles and other riff-raff screwing around my yard or produce. Picking this bad boy up today! Can't wait to try it out.

    I just purchased a Savage Mark II .22 caliber bolt action rifle but with a synthetic stock - I truly appreciate this video - I am a very novice rifle owner and I need to learn how to setup my own rifle's with a scope - I will be making some of these purchases based solely on your word - I am not sure about this scope though. I do NOT hunt - I use my Rifles solely for TARGET shooting - I am limited to a 100 yard target though - but - if I drive 2 hours away I can find a 200 yard range - So what I am asking you is what type of a scope should I be looking for - I am a disabled Vet so I am limited on funds - right n ow I have a Barska 3X9X38 scope on my Savage 64 Simi-Auto that I do not like, so I want a decent scope for my bolt action. Sincerely: Buster

    Thank you for stopping by! Everything on this rifle is still in great working order and I have had no issues. I don’t have too much experience with other scopes or long range scopes. The scope that I’m using shoots well up to I would say 60-70 yards pretty accurately. I haven’t used it up to 100 yards. I think if you are planning to target shoot up 100 yards or more, you may want a scope with more zoom power so you see your target better at that range but I couldn’t recommend a certain scope. Hopefully someone can help you out with a recommendation on a scope.

    Great video man. I just recently got a Savage Mark II F, .22 bolt action. Was looking for a scope but didn't realize I needed a mount, so your video was very informative. Do you have a preference for rail mounts that are single, like the one in your video, or come in two smaller pieces that are separate?

  • @MNMadeAdventures

    @MNMadeAdventures

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks! I think that the single piece gives you a bit more room to adjust your scope mounts because you can move them farther forward or backwards. Whereas the single, separate ones kinda leave you with where you mount them. But I think it’s also preference based the look you are going after also.
