Sautso, Alta - Midnight Sun & Big Fish on a Dry Fly!

Mikael is back on the Sautso beat on the mighty Alta! A few days in the most remotes part of this magic river, in great company and with some extraordinary catches. Watch ecstatic Mika Vainio hook and land his first Alta salmon. And he did it on a skated dry fly - a special moment to remember!

The nature surrounding the Alta and Gaula is simply stunning! I doubt I will ever get to fish these rivers but I have visited them. The Namsen was also high on my list but where we went, it was damned and had a huge fish stairs setup that you could visit. Far from natural situations. Love your videos, they are truly inspirational!

@@frodinflies I have one GL fly tying catalogue frim 2010 and the cap is there on you 😃. Would you like to make one dry fly for the next month of your tying? In the same catalogue I can see one of your dry fly creation " ET TURBO". Will be interesting to see how you make dry flies and your thoughts about that. Greetings from Norway....

Wow, on a single-hand too. Must have been at least a 10W? ( North American terms 10 weight, 500 - 750 grains ?) Just like you said, Mikaël, the best releases are when you do not have to touch the fish. Gratulerer, Hå Det Bra, be safe and tell the old fathers to keep their vests on!! KOS!

Extremely rare to see a 10w one hander in Norway, most are 7 or 8w sometimes a 9 but even that is rare theese days.
